(Everfelt) Chapter 1- Sophie

Start from the beginning

Alright, Sophie transmitted. She took a deep breath, hoping to let it all out.

So, right as I was dying, and you were with me on that beach, I started fading away. But I wasn't dying. It was like.................. the Adrelic connection pulled me in with my physical body, preserving me in that world. So, I was there alone, gaining strength and healing. Before I knew it, I guess I wasn't dying anymore. I finally had enough strength to leave. I'm back at the flower fields now.

Silence followed. So long in fact that Sophie began to worry that Keefe had severed the connection.

Wow........... well good to know that the Mysterious Miss. F. is immortal as well! I should throw you off a cliff and see what happens! Wait, that wouldn't work- you can teleport.

Ugh, I thought you were going to be serious about this! Sophie groaned.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm standing somewhere that's barely familiar- and I don't even know how long it's been! Two weeks? Four?

Sophie flopped down onto her back, annoyed. How could Keefe joke about this?

Okay, okay, relax. I'm sorry. But you don't need to worry. Yeah, that was a little much to take in... but; You're alive! That's what matters. And................... it doesn't matter how long it's been since you "died."

Despite the current circumstances, Sophie found herself smiling. It had always been Keefe's irritating gift to be able to make her smile no matter what was happening.

Her heart sunk a little at that. If she had died, Sophie would have lost that all.

Well, Keefe thought, dragging out the word, How are you going to get back? You can teleport to Candleshade if you want. That's where I'm at right now.

Yeah, sure I'll do that, Sophie agreed, Are you alright there with your dad?

This isn't the time to talk about that. It's not about me right now. Like I said, I thought you were dead.

Okay, I'll let it go........... but you know you can always stay at Havenfield, right?

You need to get teleporting, Keefe cut in. Cause I need proof if this is real or not.

Right, sorry, see you soon! Sophie said quickly before ending the conversation.

She slowly stood up, giving the place one last look around. Then, started running.

She ran, pushing energy into her legs, cracking the void, then......................................

Sophie found herself standing right outside a tall, skyscraper manor.

Candleshade.

Sophie decided to stretch out her thoughts to Keefe, because she didn't really want to turn up and face Lord Cassius in middle of the night- especially when he thought she was dead.

Keefe? I'm here.

Okay, hang on- I'll flash a light out my bedroom window and you can levitate up there.

Sophie's stomach turned. Keefe, I'm not sure I-

Relax, Foster. I know you can do it.

Keefe's confidence somehow made her feel better.

Okay, here I come, Sophie thought quickly.

She closed her eyes, trying to boost her concentration.

Sophie looked up, seeing a small light flash from a window that was definitely high up.

She took a steadying breath.
