I must have fallen asleep for ages, because the next thing I knew, it was morning and my mum was telling me to get off the couch.

“How’s face feeling?” She asked touching it tenderly.

“Ouch!” I yelped in pain.

I heard a familiar voice mutter Drama Queen under their breath.

“Don’t you dare Jacob!” I yelled at him. Why was I in such a bad mood?

I stood up off the couch feeling awful dizzy and made my way to the bathroom.

I turned and looked at myself in the mirror.

An ear splitting scream echoed through the house and I recognised it as mine.

I had a large black mark on my eye. A black eye!

“JACOB!!!! Why did you have to slap that guy!” I screeched out as I stormed out of the bathroom.

Jacob ran and hid behind my mum.

“Calm down Amy. It’ll heal up real soon. Now get ready for school” My mum said sweetly. She’s not the one with the black eye.

“School?! How am I supposed to go to school looking like this!”

My mother’s smile disappeared as she handed me my bag. “You are going Amy. NOW”

I walked back into the bathroom quickly and gave myself some lip-gloss and tried to cover the mark with make up but it didn’t work. I washed it all off in the end.

I rolled my eyes. “Trust me Hannah Bear, you’re the only one people want to punch” Hannah Bear was Nate’s nickname for her. I think I may have just set off a bomb.

She glowed red and reminded me of tinker bell for a second. Well they had the same fake blonde hair and short outfits.

“Wait, is your boyfriend beating you up? Oh that’s right, you don’t have one” She sneered at me.

“I pity the guy that has to deal with you…” I sighed shaking my head sarcastically. I started to walk off towards my locker.

“You mean your best friend?” She said innocently. That made me stop in my tracks.

“You realise he’s your ex boyfriend Hannah” I said wryly.

She shook her head smiling. “Nope. We are back together since this morning”

My eyes widened in shock. “What?”

“Well that got your attention didn’t it. He and I made up. And I want you to stay away from him” She hissed.

I smiled. “Jealous?” I tried to act bravado but on the inside I was panicking. How could he get back together with her? I thought Jacob told me….

“Well let’s just say I will hunt you down and make life very hard for you” She said. Something about her tone made me think she wasn’t joking.

“Whatever” I said and continued walking down until I reached my locker. Standing next to it was my other best friend. Alice. But I call her Allie.

“Hey Allie!” I said as she looked up from her phone.

“I know!” Allie agreed.

Courtney shook her head in grief. “He has returned to the dark side”

The bell rang out and I sighed knowing I had languages next. That reminded me of something. The snow globe.

“Guys, can you come to the library with me at lunch? I need to search something up” I asked.

“Of course” The both said.
