5. The Familiar Stranger

Start from the beginning

Yoongi and Hoseok exchanged glances, their eyes reflecting a mix of relief and worry. "What happened? Did you get hurt anywhere else?" Hoseok asked worriedly.

Jimin nodded in assurance, " I'm alright" He said, Trying to calm down his thunderous thoughts about the attacker. "But it made me scared as fuck" He added, Grabbing one of the cups from the tray.

Yoongi keenly noted the tremor in Jimin's eyes, A silent confession of concealed anxiety. It was evident that there lingered a memory, A haunting specter that Jimin struggled to shake off.

Reflecting on the first encounter etched in his mind, Yoongi revisited the old days, When Jimin first stepped into the orphanage center.

The raw fear painted across Jimin's eyes mirrored the helplessness of a shattered soul. A memory vividly preserved, How Jimin would get easily sacred, Even by the shadows. How his sleeplessness became a canvas where Yoongi could read the unspoken chapters of his painful past.

Amidst the darkness, Yoongi, A silent observer, Recognized the yearning for solace in Jimin's eyes. In response, he offered warmth, A comfort that Jimin required on those agonizing days.

In those quiet moments, Yoongi's care became an unspoken pledge, A testament to the resilience of a connection forged not by blood, but by the shared experience of overcoming life's adversities.

Today, Yoongi saw the same anonymous fear, The same anxiousness, The same pain, The same darkness that Jimin always wanted to escape.

"Ya...Jimin-ah you don't need to worry about anything... You know we're always here for you no matter what" Yoongi assured, Tightening his grip against Jimin's palm.

Jimin glanced at Yoongi's face and concealed his face with a little smile, That seemed heavy, He nodded, "I'll go get changed" Said him, Placing the cup of tea back in the tray, Jimin rose and approached his room.

The night hung heavily over Jimin, each passing moment extending its unbearable length as unsettling thoughts swirled in his mind.

Images of the attacker haunted him, sending shivers down his spine, while the enigmatic presence of Taehyung, An unexpected stranger, Who somehow seemed familiar to him, Merely increased his curiosity.

Questions echoed relentlessly in Jimin's mind, disrupting any hope of peaceful slumber. "Why did Taehyung risk his life? Was it solely to shield him, and why did his face bear an uncanny familiarity?" These questions, like unwelcome guests, robbed him of the rest he desperately urged.

In surrender to the relentless night, Jimin abandoned his failed struggle for sleep. Rising from his bed, he reached for his laptop, A beacon of distraction in the quiet darkness.

With a determined resolve, Jimin scrolled through his folder, Ultimately selecting his favorite movie, "Notebook," as a refuge from the tumultuous thoughts that bothered him.

As the scenes of love and passion unfolded on the screen, Jimin found solace in the fictional world, temporarily escaping the harsh realities that had woven a web around him.

The glow of the laptop provided a comforting contrast to the shadows that lingered in his room, offering a momentary respite from the unanswered questions that continued to linger in the depths of the night.

As Jimin awoke, the sweet melody of birds greeted him at his window. He squinted against the morning light, relishing the gentle caress of sunlight on his skin.

Moving languidly, Jimin positioned himself on the edge of the bed. With a slow, contented groan, he stretched his body, determined to embrace the simplicity of the moment.

"I'm not gonna think about anything," Jimin assured himself, letting the serene morning envelop him in tranquility.

After scrolling his phone for the next few seconds, Jimin let himself out of the blanket and emerged out of the room.

"Yah Jimin-ah You should have called me if you need anything," Said Yoongi in a voice mixed with concern and care.

"No, No, I'm alright" Jimin answered, Struggling to not think about the terrifying events that occurred to him, He carefully sat on the couch. "Aren't you supposed to happen in the restaurant?" He asked looking at Yoongi who seemed busy in the kitchen.

"NO, I'm gonna make you breakfast and then we're going on a long drive" Yoongi answered. He poured the soup into a bowl and approached the living area. "Anyway, how's your wounds? Are you okay or should we go to the doctor?" He asked worriedly.

Jimin softly smiled, "I'm completely fine" He answered, Taking the bowl and slurping the soup. "It's fucking tasty" He passed a compliment.

Yoongi nodded, "I Know I'm the best chef indeed," He said both busting out in a soft chuckle.

After having breakfast, Yoongi took Jimin on the long drive. It somehow always worked for Jimin, And he felt grateful, For having someone in his life, Who could understand him.

The gentle hum of the engine, mixed with the rustling sounds of the leaves, And the cool breeze of the wind, Slowly caressing his face, Calmed down the thunderous thought, As Yoongi drove his car to the opened road.

Jimin felt a soothing wave wash over him, lifting the weight off his shoulder. The burden of his dark past and agonizing memories seemed to fade, As Jimin glanced at the nature unfolded like a vivid painting, Rolling hills, swaying trees, and the occasional glimpse of a tranquil lake.

Yoongi, with a reassuring smile, guided the car through the stunning landscape. He turned on the music player And picked his favorite song, He always preferred to listen during thier long drive, "Drive by Incubus"

Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear.
And, I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer.
It's driven me before, and it seems to have a vague.
Haunting mass appeal,
But lately, I'm beginning to find that I,
Should be the one behind the wheel.
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there.
With open arms and open eyes, yeah,
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there,
I'll be there, oh,
So if I decide to waive my chance to be one of the hive.
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?.
Ah, ah-ah, ooh.

And they both sing along, Word to word, Matching the rhythm, Busting out in a peal of laughter. Yoongi felt satisfied as Jimin's giggles echoed through the car, His eyes brightened like the midnight stars, Twinkling in the dark sky.
