"Baby you'll never believe how fast she's growing. She'll be two months tomorrow." Chris talked to Erin, only getting the beeps from the monitors as a response

He stared at her, feeling guilty.
He hated having her hooked up to all these machines, it looked uncomfortable, but he couldn't bare the thought of taking her off life support and losing her.

Just then Erin began roughly coughing. Her eyes opened shortly after.

"Erin." He gasped in amazement "Ok, uh nurse!" He was too excited to think straight "Nurse, she's choking on the tube!"

The nurse rushed in and quickly went to Erin's aid "Ms. Daniels, I'm gonna' take the ventilator tube out, ok?" She said to her

Erin stiffly nodded as Chris anxiously watched. "What's going on?"

"She's breathing on her own." The nurse smiled as she removed the tube

Once the tube was out, Erin cleared her throat then looked at Chris with tears in her eyes. He immediately hugged her, feeling overjoyed. She weakly embraced him back as best as she could.

"Would you like some water?" The nurse asked

Erin nodded while crying into Chris's chest. "Oh baby. I missed you so so much." He sniffled, letting his tears fall

"I-" she cleared her throat again

"Don't try to say too much right now." He said "Just take your time, Mama." He pecked her forehead before pulling away

The nurse handed her the water and Erin took a few sips through the straw. "The baby?" She hoarsely questioned, looking down at her flat stomach with worry

Masiyah was in her carrier sleep, but the carrier was out of Erin's sight so she had no idea her daughter was right in the room with her.

"She's right here." Chris leaned down and picked up Masiyah

Erin lightly gasped as more tears escaped. "Oh my goodness."

"I'll help you hold her." Chris sat on the bed

Erin's eyes couldn't help but water as she looked down at her beautiful baby girl "Hi." She sniffled "It's so nice to meet you. Mommy's sorry she couldn't be here when you were first born, but I'm sure daddy did an amazing job taking care of you."

Chris watched the beautiful moment he thought he'd never see. "I love y'all." He pecked Erin's cheek

"We love you more baby." She smiled

"So Dedra really tried that?" Erin sat up in bed feeling refreshed and getting an update on everything she'd missed

"Yeah. Yas whooped her ass right outside the house."

"That's what she get." She laughed while sitting Masiyah's bottle down and then burping her

"Knock knock." Melanie said before coming in with flowers

"Uhm, why are you here?" Erin's smile immediately turned into a mug

"Chris called and said you were woke and-"

"You called her?" Erin turned to Chris

He sighed "Baby, just hear them out."

"Them?"

"Mom and dad are in the hall." Melanie stayed by the door

Erin pursed her lips "Which mom? Mine or yours?"

Chris sucked his teeth and took Masiyah, who was now sound asleep, from Erin.

"Both actually." Mel chuckled trying to lighten the mood

"Oh wow." Erin gave a fake smile "Leave." She straight faced her sister

"Erin, don't be like that. We all were really excited to come see you awake. We've missed you."

"How did you even know I was in a coma?"

"Chris has been nice enough to include us in everything that's been happening. Why can't you look past all this and-"

She cut her off and raised an eyebrow at Chris "So you had them around Masiyah after I clearly said I didn't ever want them around her?"

"To be fair, I didn't know if and when you were gonna' wake up." He defended himself

"That's more the reason to honor my wishes." She argued

"I needed help and Masiyah needed to know her family."

"Psh. Family my ass."

Melanie finally spoke up again "Sis please just-"

"You still here?" Erin became annoyed

She finally set the flowers down "Fine. I'll leave, but before I go just know that we all love you."

"Whatever, and take them ugly ass flowers!"

"Baby." Chris sighed again

Erin took a deep breath "Don't baby me right now."
