"C'MON LIZZY, PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE..." Newt mumbled under his breath as he fiddled around on his cell, hitting the 'call' button numerous times, one after another. When not receiving any response after maybe three, four tries, Newt decided to put the phone away, tucking it into his jacket pocket. But, just then, he felt a vibration on his body, jolting him from any point of relaxation he was going to begin. Taking out the phone once again, Newt glanced at the screen, quickly accepting the call without hesitation.

"Finally, it took you long enough to pick up." Newt started off the conversation, propping the phone up against the small lamp on his nightstand so his sister could see himself fully. Lizzy's camera showed a dark room, with her face only being lit up by her phone's screen, "Oh shit, it's late, isn't it? Fuck, sorry Lizzy, I forgot about the time change."

"No, no, it's okay, Newt." Lizzy shook her head, sitting up on her bed and propping the phone on her nightstand just as Newt did.

"No, please, you need to sleep, I'll just call you some other time—" Newt moved his hand forward to pick up the phone and end the call.

"Newt," Lizzy started, "Please, trust me: It's fine. I don't mind. You know we don't get to call too much with how busy I am."

Newt hesitated to oblige, wanting his sister to get the full eight hours she needed but also wanting to continue talking to her. But, he gave in, "Okay."

"Great!" Lizzy smiled, "Alright, so, how's New York? Anything fun going on?"

Newt scoffed, "By 'fun', do you mean tutoring? Because that's what Paige has got me up to now."

Lizzy dramatically clasped her hand over her mouth, "No way, Newtie Patootie is a tutor, helping others?"

Newt paused before speaking, tilting his head, avoiding Lizzy's gaze,"Uh, actually.. I'm the one getting tutored."

Lizzy stared back at her phone in response, crossing her arms, "Okay, Newt, I thought we talked about this. What happened?"

"What do you mean, 'what happened'? I've been failing ever since I came to Glade Academy."

"Okay, okay, you know what I meant." Lizzy lifted her hand to her mouth once again, but this time she rubbed it back and forth, sighing, "I thought you were going to start trying."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever."

"Okay, well, are you still attending class?" Lizzy changed to a different sub-subject, trying to lighten the mood a bit. But, she didn't want to stop discussing the matter at hand.

".. If you're asking whether I'm attending class now, then yes." Newt smugly answered, chuckling slightly.

Lizzy chuckled nervously, "I guess I'm glad you're attending class now, then." Lizzy decided not to press on it too much, as she didn't want to make Newt too uncomfortable, "What about the tutoring, then? Is it really that bad?"

"Yes, it really is that bad. The material is utterly ridiculous, and don't even get me started on the—" Newt tried to say, but was cut off by his sister.

"The tutor?" Lizzy finished.

"Yeah. He's insufferable, I swear. He has something against me, I'm telling you. Like, just because I don't talk that much doesn't mean he has to be a dick."

"Is he really being a dick or are you just overexaggerating?"

Newt sighed, "Okay, maybe he's not much of a dick." he admitted, "But I literally bought him coffee on our second session to try and be a good person, and all we ended up doing later was—"
