Chapter 11. Not Easily Broken Part 2

We got her out the smokey apartment and downstairs to the ambulance truck. The paramedics was hooking her up to the machine to revive her and to make sure her baby was still alive moving. No heart beats from her or her baby. They had to resuscitate her.

"Clear!" Her body went up and down.

"Still no pulse!"

"Clear!" The paramedic was doing CPR on her chest.

"Still no pulse's."

"One more time." The boyfriend was watching his girlfriend and his baby unresponsive self trying to comeback to life.

"Clear!" "We got a pulse an heartbeats from both." The boyfriend fell to his knees.

"Alright crew let's get them to the hospital." I took off my helmet about to get into the fire truck.

"Mariah!" I heard the woman called my name from behind her mask on the ambulance truck that's when the boyfriend came to give me a hug. I hugged him back and moved him away a little bit to see his face, it was James.

I stopped hugging him running to the ambulance truck to see that it was Rachel we cried when we seen each other.

"Come on we gotta get them to the hospital!" I went back to get James to put him in the ambulance truck.

"What hospital y'all taking them too?"

"We all are taking them Lenn. Go get into the fire truck." And I did. I put on my seatbelt and started to cry in my seat.

"You okay Lenn?" Buckley asked me.

"She knew those couples. Just give her some breathing room Buckley." The Captain told her.

About 5 minutes later we pulled into Grace General Hospital. The ambulance truck parked to get her into the emergency room. I seen James along the side of her going into the emergency room department with her. Everybody was back in the trucks on they way back to the station. I hurried up to my locker to grab my phone to call Tommie she answered on the third ring.

"Hello?" She sounded all sleepy. I just started crying all over again sitting on the bench by the lockers.

"What's wrong baby ?" She sounded confused and concerned. I finally told her while crying.

"I just saved my friends."

"Who baby? Ryan and Blake?"

"No Rachel and James." I cried even harder when I said their names.

"Baby what!?."

"Just get an Uber to Grace General Hospital bae and meet me there."

"Alright baby. Just stop crying love, I'll meet you up there. I'm requesting the Uber now it's 5 minutes away."

"I'll try. The scene was pretty bad and Rachel was unconscious bae. They had to resuscitate her 3 times with her baby inside of her. (I started crying again) They both had died baby."

"But they came back alive, god wasn't about to let that happen. I'm getting into the Uber now baby. I'm on my way to the hospital."

"Okay my love." We hung up. I took off my fire fighter suit and hung it up. I put my helmet in my locker. I grabbed my bag, purse and my truck keys. I closed my locker heading to the truck. I didn't say anything to anybody as I left.

"Lenn do you want some company at the hospital? I just got off my shift." Buckley stopped me in the parking lot as I was trying to get into my Benz truck.

"No thank you Buckley. My girlfriend will keep me company." I said getting into my truck pulling out.

I made it to the emergency room department to see Tommie there waiting.
