"What are your reasons for coming to the Royal Palace?" Killian came towards us and had his eyes narrowed at us suspiciously. "What are your intentions for wanting to meet His Highness?" His voice was cold and one hand held his sword, ready to act at any moment.
He didn't trust us but that's fine. I knew exactly how I could get him to trust us, just enough to let us meet Cassius! "I can't talk about it casually." I began and nodded my head towards the guards. He looked at the Knights and then back at us.
"They won't do or say anything unless told. Speak." He commanded.
Ha, well I think it would be safer for Malakai to be hidden until it's safe for him to come out to the world. There still is, after all, a threat to his life. But Killian didn't seem like he'd be letting us come into the Royal Palace anytime soon. So, he would deal with the trustworthiness of his knights.
I turned around and placed a hand on Malakai's shoulder. "What do you think Your Highness? May I?" I whispered but I'm sure everyone around could hear me.
Seconds went by before Malakai responded. Then he just nodded.
I turned around to face Killian who stood near the carriage window side and still waited for our response. His face changed just slightly when he heard me use 'Your Highness'.
"The person behind me is, the younger brother of the Crown Prince," I started and heard the Knights and the coachman gasp. Even Killian couldn't keep his stoic expression from breaking.
One of his eyebrows twitched. "What proof do you have of that?" He asked.
I moved aside and stopped hiding Malakai. He understood my movements and he took off his cloak. There was not a drop of blood on him from the incident with Sylvia and it helped that he cleaned up well at the Baron's estate.
His face was expressionless as he looked from the Knights, to the carriage and finally at me. "Is this enough?" He asked and I nodded.
It should be. No one could deny his silver hair and, the most important thing, his prominent red eyes. I've never seen Cassius in person, but in the webtoon, he had red eyes and silver hair, very similar to Malakai, just that his hair was way longer. It was a well-known fact how much the Princes looked identical to the King, despite having different mothers.
Silence followed after Malakai took off his Cloak. Even Killian, the main male lead, was quiet.
"Let him come inside the carriage." A captivating, baritone voice spoke from the inside of the carriage.
My eyes widened, it can't be. But it must be! That has to be Cassius, who else would it be?
Ahh, I was losing it. I just heard my favorite character's voice for the first time.
"Yes, Your Highness," Killian spoke and long let go of the hilt of his sword. He looked past me and at Malakai.
That confirmed it!
"Ahh!" I squealed. Th-that sound just came out of my mouth. I couldn't even contain my excitement. I covered my mouth. Was I embarrassed? Sure. But this, this wasn't something I could've ever imagined happening to me—I was so happy.
I know that when I was a reader, I always imagined having a cool and mysterious aura to attract my favorite character if I'd ever meet them, but once you meet them or are about to, all that just goes out the window, and you almost have to suppress the fangirl inside.
