"Ah, I'm so sorry." I turned around immediately. But turning away from half-naked Cassius didn't help one bit. The image of him was still in my head and my mind was doing nothing to remove it.
"I-I was looking for Malakai and I was told this was his room." I clumsily explained.
My heart was racing so fast that it almost felt like it would beat right out of my ribcage. I was half out of it when I first met Cassius in the carriage earlier. I'm pretty sure after this interaction I'm saying goodbye to my sanity.
"This is where he's staying. I just..." He began but cleared his throat halfway through. "I'm sorry for how inappropriate I am right now. We'll converse after I get dressed."
I nodded but realized I still had my back facing him, so he might not have seen that. "Okay."
If this was Malakai's room, what was he doing here? Just by looking at the door on the right of us, I could tell that, that was the Crown Prince's Living quarters. I was really curious as to why he came to the door like that too, but I didn't dare to voice any of the questions I had.
He came out of the room, going to his and it was obvious that I shouldn't so blatantly look at him. So, I covered my hands with my eyes, and I heard a chuckle.
When I heard the sound of a doorknob being turned, I knew that Cassius was about to go into his room and that this was the most important moment for me to practice self-control and not look.
But I was so curious. I'd seen the front, how did the back look? It would be blocked by his hair, but nevertheless.
I slowly parted two fingers on my left hand just so I could take a tiny peek.
What I saw was not his Highnesses impressive back muscles but a handsome face with an eyebrow raised towards me.
I was caught!
I shrieked backward and decided then and there to just go ahead and take my stuff and leave the Palace. The amount of embarrassing things that I was doing was increasing at a rapid speed. I seriously and completely covered my face again, this time from embarrassment.
"I'll see you at Dinner, Miss Romania." I heard Cassius say before closing the door.
I screamed internally, wanting to drop to the ground and release all the emotions built up in me right now. I walked into my room and immediately threw myself on the bed.
"Argh! He must think I'm a pervert!" I screamed into the pillow. This was not the type of impression you wanted your favorite character to have of you.
But who opens a door in only a towel like that? It wasn't like I entered his bathroom to catch him like that. I was completely innocent in this. I did nothing perverted.
Then my mind took the chance to remind me how I intentionally peeked through my fingers to see him—And got caught.
Thinking about it again made me toss one of the pillows off the bed.
"I'll have to see Malakai tomorrow." I decided.
Since His Highness said he'd see me at dinner, it meant that he would be joining me and Malakai for dinner. I was so embarrassed that I wanted to skip dinner entirely to avoid seeing Cassius.
I'll talk to Malakai tomorrow, considering that he hasn't followed up on why I haven't visited him, which means that maybe he's asleep. Well, either way, he has to rest.
I'll just skip dinner. Ahh, but I was genuinely hungry.
There was a soft knock on the door. "It's me, My Lady."
