Zoro's POV

Post-Alabasta Arc
This is so embarrassing. Am I really the only one who doesn't see this woman as a liability? We clearly haven't met her and the entire crew is all jolly good with her just because she has some cool tricks up her sleeve. So what if she can spawn multiple hands at once? I can do that too, if I tried!
I let out a heavy, and deep sigh filled with disappointment, before making my way back to the kitchen for some snacks to be brewed. What caught my eye was that same mysterious woman whose hair fell short to her shoulders and always carried historic books everywhere.
Bothered, I clench my fists tightly and scowl at her, although not meeting her eyes. I heard her short giggle as I come to sit down away from her. In a way, I felt much more annoyed irritated with the cook around and swooning over her appearance. Anger and (perhaps) jealousy rose inside of me and I couldn't help but glare at the both of them back and forth.
He twirled and swivelled around chairs to reach her, even hopping awkwardly a few times, before handing her a single drink of lemonade. Did he go through all that trouble just to give her that bullshit anyone can get themselves!? Watching him make such stupid decisions only exasperated me even more.
"Hey, you idiot. I want some lemonade too." I demand him with a frown. He turns his head rapidly towards me and storms in my direction. He took my collar into his hands and started scolding me for ruining his "euphoria" with "Robin-chwan". Who the hell does he think he is? He's just a useless cook and nothing more..
"I can't believe you'd ask me of such a thing.." He says provokingly. After that was dead silence and the sound of sipping from the mysterious lady across from me. Clenching my teeth, I grab his own suit's collar and shout back at him, not wanting to back down after he lectured me for no reason at all.
We bickered loudly and were at each other's throats a good few more minutes until we finally gave out and shoved each other aside. He went back to cooking a new recipe and thankfully, the woman had already disappeared into the distance. Now it was just us two and the tension surrounding us all over again.
I couldn't help but glance back up at him and narrow my eyes. The way his hips swayed in the kitchen and his arms hastily moving almost seemed surreal and... different. More particularly, it made me feel different.
In the next few minutes, I found myself staring at the cook for too long without even realizing him shouting at me. "Oi, you idiot! What the hell is wrong with you?" He interrogated, putting his knife down. I inhaled deeply and met his eyes while my heart pounded quickly in my chest; restricted and willing to escape.
"Nothing. I just.. saw a spider on your apron." I lied. Out of nowhere, he jumped up and swung his body around, shaking it and trying to get the "spider" off. He shrieked and ran off towards me, flailing his arms around. "AAH YOU IDIOT!! WHERE'S THE GODDAMN SPIDER?!" He shouted while holding the knife tightly in front of him.
My eyes shot open and his back is turned to me as if forcing me to flick off the imaginary spider. "Cook, I'm just joking." I snicker, crossing my arms and leaning back. He stomps his foot and rapidly swings it across my face, pinning it to the chair. "You just had to waste your time nagging me!!" He yelled as he inched a bit closer with his leg still pinning me.
I laugh and use my arm to push his leg back down, making him go off balance but obviously catching himself. Then, the room went quiet again and only the sound of the food frying in the pan echoed in the kitchen. He sullenly dragged his feet along the floorboards and back to his workspace, even taking a puff of his cigarette along the way.
In a few more minutes, I came to the conclusion to just leave the damn cook alone so I won't keep bothering him so much. I got tired of it sometimes too, so I pushed my chair back and tiredly walk back to my proper nap spot.
Although the sun was still up high and shining brightly on my face, I enjoyed the cool breeze brush past me and hitting my face. I tucked my arms behind my head and leaned back, letting my swords fall next to me as my eyes close shut and I drift off into dreamland once again.
As my body began to relax and my mind fogged asleep, I hear my stomach rumble and I jolt up again. In desperate need of food, I stretched my arms and sat up, yawning. I tilted my neck to the side as the sun beam shone down on me and I stared right at it. I question why I do that sometimes.
Despite this, I manage to pick myself up and marched towards the kitchen again, clutching my stomach in starvation. When I open the door, I take a peek at in the room only for the cook not to be there. Only then did I hear the pesky cook's voice again. The curly-brows was so smitten with the new female crew member that I didn't even feel like bothering with his idiotic actions.
Even with this new distraction in our chef's life, I had to control my fury and so I did. Slamming the door shut, I hurried over to the cook and scowled, glaring at him lethally as he ignores my angry snarls. As I make my way towards them, the blonde bumps into me and almost spills the drink over me; ruining my mood further.
Why am I the only one so uptight about this new crew member? In fact, we shouldn't even be welcoming such a stranger and enemy to our crew with open arms! Although, I can't really be talking look with our already distraught crew. I should just focus on what I came here for; which is obviously the food that just so happened to wake me up from my slumber.

After hours of annoying the chef, I finally get everything I've asked him for and in fact much more energetic than I was before. It was likely the high-quality sake he brewed up just now that raised my spirits. Admittedly, I wish he'd make time to stir up some great sake like this every once in a while during his free time.
Surprisingly, I had managed to spend an entire day dedicated to pissing off the idiot in the kitchen and basically everywhere he went. I chase him around, asking him questions and demanding orders for him when in reality, it was almost like I was seeking for attention. Was I becoming desperate for his attention or is this supposed to be a normal "best friend" thing?
Once I notice the time, I've realized just how much had passed by as I argued with him and it felt comforting, to say the least. I didn't want him wasting his love and attention towards the women in our crew. What difference would it make if he actually cared about the guys on the crew as well? Anyways, it's not like I felt anything towards him. He just pisses me off. Most of the time.
Suddenly, I felt an urgency to quarrel with him again. I notice his ears perk up as he listens to the stomps of my feet and I cross my arms, eyeing him cautiously but with anger. He seemed exhausted but he had always wore that same aggravated look on his face as he prepared to fight again. I unsheathe my sword and drag it on the floor, scolding him for no reason at all.
"You piss me off, you know that!?" I spoke through gritted teeth. "Am I on your mind 24/7, you swordsman freak!?" He insulted back but had that slight teasing tone that made my anger rise. However instead of anger, it had immediately been replaced with butterflies as I pin him against the wall and snarl at him. "You don't know what the hell you're saying, shitty cook!!"
I yelled to his face, still keeping his collar tightly in my grip. A small sweat drips down from his forehead from our close proximity as he tries to shove me off. I didn't budge and somehow, I felt entertained to watch the petite cook throw his arms around me and even around my neck. As I lean closer, I can feel his heavy breath against my face and it was hot as hell.
We were both sweating but we kept that same glare towards each other and the silence grew louder; only for the sounds of our breathing and shuffling of our clothes to escape in the silence. "Quit pestering me, you son of a bitch.." He mumbled under his breath. I can almost feel his lips annunciating against my own and it felt goddamn pleasant.
I knew I was driving him up a wall and the anger that boiled inside of him clearly showed.. except for other romantic feelings to come bubbling up to the surface. Out of nowhere, I felt my cheeks lift and I smiled more genuinely, even loosening my grip to his collar. My teeth were gritted but I gave off a joyful radiance that seeped through his facade.
His lips quivered and I felt my smile immediately turn to an embarrassed frown when I notice him blushing madly at me. He kept fidgeting so I was forced to keep his body in place while my arm wrapped around his waist. What the hell was I even doing? He was clearly uncomfortable.. or maybe he was on cloud nine with that flustered face of his. Either way..
All I wanted was his attention.
