Zoro's POV
- - - -
Pre-Sabaody Archipelago

The waves crashed against the ship and the sun was shining brightly on my face, forcing my eyes open. I looked around the empty kitchen, realizing it was awfully dark and quiet. Suddenly, someone hiding under the table began to burst out of laughter and the rest followed. Once my eyes adjusted to the light, I turned back towards the now noisy crew hiding behind objects.

"What the hell?" I wondered, stretching to the side and yawning. I heard footsteps approach me as I placed my thumb on the tip over the grip of my sword. Then, my captain wrapped his arms around my body, giggling quietly while carrying me towards his hiding spot. I sat down under the table cloth, instantly asking him what we were hiding for.

He hushed me and pointed towards the door, causing me to whip my head in the direction. As I questioned what he meant, I turned around to see the boy doing pursing his lips forward with a drowsy expression and a pretend cigarette. I thought about what was so special about the cook and why we were doing all this for him when it suddenly hit me.

My jaw dropped and my eyes popped out of its sockets, making Luffy choke back a snicker with his palm. Gritting my teeth, I crossed my legs and set my arms on it, sharply inhaling. I thought about my stupidity in forgetting the cook's birthday; especially since I've been in love with him since Baratie.

In the midst of thinking, the floorboards creaked loudly. "Luffy!" He called out. The captain beside me straightened his back upon hearing his name. "That's me." He whispered. I resumed on listening to the calls of names coming from Sanji's mouth. The longer he called, the more tired his voice got. Then, he stepped in the room.

Sanji's POV

I got up this morning feeling a tingling and sore sensation on my leg. It's been hung off the hammock and it seemed to have done a toll on me. I slowly stood up, rubbing my eyes open and scanning the room. I quickly found out all the boys had woken up, including the nappy one, Zoro. I hopped off my bed and stomped loudly, trying to make as much noise as possible. The ship remained quiet and nobody answered. It was odd.

I climbed up the ladder and searched for my captain, calling out names from time to time. After hearing no one talk for a while, I begin to wonder if they left me. It wasn't a usual thought but my mind kept telling me they got tired of me. I wearily called out the boys' names and tried to add much enthusiasm to the girls' names.

I got pissed off and stormed into the Merry's kitchen where I met my crew mates jumping out while yelling, "Happy Birthday!" The one beside me was Nami-swan and my heart began to pound loudly in my chest as my stomach felt like butterflies. She rolled her eyes as if indicating she didn't want to do something until she finally gave me a peck on the cheek. Blood began flowing out of my nostrils and my blush was as vibrant as ever.

"This is the best birthday gift ever!!" I cried in glee. Luffy and Zoro ended up blowing through the party horn whilst the other clapped or brought the cake. I had my critics but I kept those to myself since I know damn well they worked their asses off on this. A few tears built in my eyes from laughter and I gave everyone a hug until I made it to Zoro.

"Happy Birthday, cook." He mumbled out, staring at either the ceiling or the floor. I teased him and made him repeat himself except louder. "Get lost." He harshly pushed me away. After regaining my composure, I stepped away from the swordsman and back to the table where my cake rests. Everyone moved towards me and begun to sing along to happy birthday.

Zoro's POV

I stood quiet by the window, sitting down by the boxes and hearing the crew clap noisily. I didn't want to admit it but I was too flustered on seeing the cook. Although I've been able to hold my pride for a while, it's slipping away with his existence. I thought about his birthday present, lying against the crates and clenching a fist on my lap. After being stuck in my mind for a while, the cook stood behind me with a cigarette in hand.

He let out most of the smoke and spoke quietly to me, "What'd you get me?" He pondered. I stared into his baby blue eyes, getting lost into it. He kicked me with his leg and blew me to the wall, breaking the crates. For a moment, the crew's concern rose, but they turned away upon seeing me against the wall with Sanji wearing a smirk. "I told you to get lost, bastard!" I roared while crawling back to another crate and leaning against it.

After sitting down quietly, I noticed he remained silent while gazing at my face. I opened one eye as he narrowed his. "Are you blushing?" He asked me curiously as I hid my face behind my palm. This made me go hot in the face and caused me to turn my entire body towards the wall. He rocked back and forth from laughter, sitting down beside me. "That's funny. I never thought you'd think of me like tha-", my body moved on its own as our lips touched.

It wasn't aa heated as expected, but rather a soft and passionate one. The feeling of relief and comfort in that kiss was built up inside me. My entire body got hot as we parted our lips, staring at each other up and down. "Z-Zoro, I..-" I pulled him towards my body and gave him a small kiss on the lips. He trembled beside me, crying in joy as he embraced me. I returned the hug and smiled widely; a rare grin that's only happened before the Baratie.

Sanji's POV

Feeling his lips brush against mine was in it on its own better than the pecks from the ladies. Gripping onto his back, I could smell his scent as I laid my head down on his shoulder. He tumbled down softly onto the flattened crates, wrapping his body into mine and smirking by my neck. As we were settling in the mood, the crew spun back around at us, eyes widened and snot streaming out their nostrils. "SANJI!? ZORO!?" They yelled in unison as robin quickly rocked her chair back, only giving us a smile.

'Well shit.' I thought to myself. Although this felt like euphoria, their staring gave me uneasiness and forced me off of him. I flung my head forwards and only glanced at the swordsman until I moved towards Nami-swan. She sighed loudly beside me, her face loosening up in relief. My face flushed pink and everyone continued to eye us carefully, thinking we'd do it again. Maybe we would — but not in front of them anymore; not ever.

The moss-head laid his head on my shoulder, staring at me wearily but with a slight bit of happiness filling his eyes. "Get off me." I felt his giggle reverberate loudly in my head as he clutched my chest tightly. "I love you." He whispered seductively in my ear. I froze by the table and pulled his hair closer to me, grinning as my head fell down. "This isn't as bad of a birthday gift as I'd imagine." I responded to him, inhaling smoke from my cigarette.

"Shut up."
