Chapter 10: "Fairy Spirits"

When I realized my bento was empty, I noticed these small, glowing human-like beings flying around me with smiles on their faces.

Naturally, I was astounded. It was my first encounter with such diminutive beings. After all, I'm in a fantasy world, and seeing new creatures or gaining new unexpected knowledge isn't unusual anymore, although it did unsettle my heart.

When they noticed me observing them, they began to laugh and dance around me.

What's the matter with these adorable little fairies?

"Um... Who are you, little ones?" I asked, interrupting their jubilant celebration.

"Giggling Finally, the master can see us! Yay! She can see us! The master can see us!" exclaimed the tiny fairy girl in her cute yellow dress. They have wings like the fairies I'd imagined. Could they be spirits? As far as I knew, spirits did exist but only in the past. Without the World Tree, spirits couldn't survive. In this world, they were believed to be extinct.

"We are your fairy spirits, master!"

"Fairy spirits? Are all of you fairy spirits? I thought fairy spirits disappeared after the World Tree was destroyed. And what do you mean when you say you're my fairy spirits?"

"Giggling Yes, fairy spirits still exist! And yes, we are your fairy spirits! You are the one who created us!" the cute little pink fairy girl exclaimed.

"Created us? What do you mean?"

"We know you're from another world!" said the cute little red fairy boy.

I was quite surprised by his words.

Do they know? How did they know? Maybe they sensed that my soul was different from the original one, right?

"Your soul from another world possesses an enormous amount of mana, far more than usual. You were brought to this world because of your immense mana capacity. As for how we were created, it's because of your excess mana. The mana you inadvertently release can give rise to fairy spirits. Since you have such a vast quantity of mana, you've been emitting it excessively, which resulted in our creation," explained the cool little green fairy boy with blond hair and green eyes.

Listening to this absurd story left me speechless.

So, it was my soul that brought these little fairies into existence?

How is that even possible?

"I was brought to this world because of my mana?"

"Yes, you unconsciously opened a portal to another world. Your soul was drawn into that portal, and it brought you here."

"Do you mean I created that portal because of my excessive mana?" I inquired, seeking clarification.

"Yes, not only can excessive mana give rise to fairy spirits, but it can also manifest various other things, such as magic tools or magic stones," the enigmatic figure explained.

As I grappled with this bewildering revelation, I couldn't help but wonder how to react to this newfound knowledge. The notion that I could craft magic tools or magic stones was entirely unexpected.

However...

"Wait! How did I even accumulate mana? Where did I get mana in the first place? In my world, there's no world tree to be found. How is this possible?" I inquired, a sense of confusion overtaking me.
