"Quran iss khayal per zor deta hai ke mard aur aurat ek doosre ke shareeq aur saathi hain, aur unhein ek doosre ke saath hasan saluk aur ehtraam ke saath pesh aana chahiye. Iss bahmi ehtraam ko mazbut aur derpa shaadi ki taamiid ke liye zaroori samjha jata hai." Imam was leading the dua-e-khair by delivering the khutba(speech).

(The Quran emphasizes the idea that men and women are partners and companions to each other, and that they should treat each other with kindness and respect. This mutual respect is seen as essential to building a strong and lasting marriage.)

"Quran ne surah Ar-Rum ki ekisvi ayat mein shaadi ko mard aur aurat ke darmyaan ek muqaddus rishta qaraar diya hai : 'aur Uski nishaniyo mein se yeh hai ke Usne tumhare liye tum hi mein se jode paida kiye, taaqi tum unn ke saath sukoon se raho, aur Usne aapas mein mohabbat aur rehmat rakhi. tumhare dilon mein: ghaur karne walo ke liye uss mein nishaniyan hain.'"

(The Quran describes marriage as a sacred bond between a man and a woman in the 21st verse of Surah Ar-Rum: "And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.")

"Humare nabi Muhammad S.A.W. ne farmaya: 'Shaadi mera huqm aur amal hai, jo meri aadat par amal nahin karte woh mujh mein se nahin hain.' Aur unhone yeh bhi kaha ke jab aadmi ne shaadi ki tou usne apna aadha deen muqammal kar liya." Imam narrated a Hadith.

(The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said,"Marriage is my precept and my practice. Those who do not follow my practice are not of me." He also said, "When a man has married, he has completed one half of his religion.")

Hamida Begum nudged her grandson and whispered in his ear, "Sun rahe hain, Mahir?! Aadha imaan muqammal hota hai nikah se."

"Dado. Hum iss matter pe baad mein baat karengey." Mahir pursued his lips to a fake smile.

"Baad mein! Baad mein! Baad mein! Aakhir kab? Aapko zara bhi ehsaas nahi hai humara. Aap humari baat kyun nahin samjhte?" Hamida Begum complained.

"Samjhta hoon, Dado. Bas woh-" Mahir's eyes travelled to the one who was sitting beside her mother and the words died down in his vocal cord.

"Bas kya?! Humare nabi ki sunnah poori karni hi hogi aapko. Hum aapke liye ab ladki dhoondhe hi wale hain, bas Roshan ka nikah ho jane dijiye, ab bohot ho chuka!" his grandmother furiously whispered to him and he hung his head low not knowing what to say.

"Hum ghar pe baat karengey iss baare mein.." he sighed tiredly.

"Bela, apni phupi jaan ke saath jaa kar terrace pe intezam dekh lijiye aur table set karwayein dinner ke liye." Shams Zaman said to his daughter and he himself was leaving with Imam saab to offer Esha prayer.

Bela nodded and a voice interrupted them, "Uncle, aap log masjid jaa rahe hain?"

"Jee beta ji!" her father smiled at him.

"Mujhe bhi jaana tha."

Bela's eyes popped out at this.

"Mahir ko masjid kyun jaana hai?"

"Bilkul beta ji, chaliye!" Shams Zaman happily nodded and once again turned to Bela, "Aap sab ready karwayein, humlog aadhe ghante mein aate hain."

"Mahir, masjid? Par kyun? Namaz ke liye? Yeh namaz kabse padhne laga? Kahin achcha banne ka dikhawa tou nahin kar raha?"

"No Bela, this is wrong. Aise hum kisi ki niyat pe shaq nahin karte. Ho sakta hai ke woh sach mein namaz padhne laga ho.."

It was a small intimate function which included only their relatives and a few neighbours. The dinner was served on the terrace.
