The Scout
Out of nowhere you became a friend,
And hand in hand
We walked together.
Said you'd be here forever.
I fell once and you were there,
Raised me up with love and care.
I fell twice and you pulled e up,
This time you were my backup.
It was your turn to fall.
I tried to help you stand tall.
I held my hand out,
But you claimed to be a scout.
Said "I'm strong alone,
I didn't even break a bone."
You stood despite the arm,
Ignoring my stretched out arm.
I wanted to be there for you,
Trust me I had no clue,
That I was as irrelevant as a stone
In that busy world of your own.
