An hour passed before they began making their way towards Marjorie’s house. Scott had shed two layers of skirts and had done his best to wrangle his - in Jimmy’s opinion - already perfect hair.
Jimmy had only collected his cod mask from outside and put on a new shirt.
Marjorie lived in a small house in the centre of town. Like every other house, it had brown mud brick walls and a plain roof. Scott’s attention was drawn to the flowerbeds - the first he’d seen of the Cod Empire - where there were at least four flowers that were definitely not native to the swamp. As they approached her front door, Scott noticed a collection of handprints running up the side of it. Each one a different colour and marked with a name.
