AYZAL POV:

☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆

The sun rises with bright rays streaming through the window, casting a warm glow in the room. I woke up with a bright smile adorning my face. I can still feel his touch on my lips. Those feathery touches and quickened breathing, a flush of warmth and butterflies dancing in my stomach.

"Hayyo rabba maine pagal hojana hai," I squealed.

"Ayzal agar isi waqt kamre se bahar na aayi to tumhari khayr nahi." I heard my mother yelling from downstairs.

"Allah ye kitni zor se bulati hai....aa rahi hu ammi!" I yelled in return.

I quickly took a shower and wore my beautiful mustard anarkali. Today is Shumaila Appi's haldi ki rasm(I think all of you know what the haldi function is. For those who don't know, it's a ritual in which turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom). I did a little bit of makeup today cause why not it's the haldi function of my appi.

"Ayzal jaldi aao warna meri jutti tumse baat karegi

"Ayzal jaldi aao warna meri jutti tumse baat karegi." I heard another scream from my mother as I was descending the stairs.

"Aa rahi hu yaar ammi," I replied.

"Haldi tumhari nahi shumaila ki hai ayzal," i heard maham Appi from behind.

*le peh gaya raita*

"Janti hu appi mai to bas thoda sa tayyar hui hu," I replied nonchalantly.

"Sirf tayyar hui ho ya kisi par dore dalne ke liye hui ho" Maham appi replied with a smirk.
Is she crazy?

"Ye kya keh rahi hai appi aap?" I asked, stunned at her remark.

"Bano mat ladki. Sab janti hu mai tum kya karti ho aur kya nahi" She semi-yelled and fisted my hand tightening her hold. I winced in pain.

"Maham chodo use" Rabail Phuppo came and pulled away Maham appi.

"Mai kyu chodu ise ammi mann to karta hai iska mu tod du har waqt zaib par dore dalti hai bad kirdar aurat" Maham apii screamed tightening her hold making my wrist go purple. My eyes widened at her choice of words.

My mind went blank at her words. Did she just call me characterless? Tears pooled in my eyes at her accusation.

"Maham chup kar jao," Rabail phuppo tried to pull her away from me.

"Kyu? Hairan ho ke mujhe kaise pata hai. Tumhe dekha hai zaib ke kamre se nikalte hue kayi baar. Phir to tum hui na ayzal bad kirdar" maham appi said with an evil smirk plastered on her face. She saw me coming from his room. When?

"Kab....?" The only word I could utter for now. I got tongue-tied with their accusations.

"Huh, kab? Ladki ye puche kab kab nahi. Humein nahi pata tha shehryar bhai ki aulad aisi bachalan hai. Tsk humein to hairani ho rahi hai ke baig haveli ki aulad aisi harkatein karsakti hai...aree tumse behtar to jahanzaib ke liye meri beti maham hai" rabail phuppo spit out harsh full words that my mind went in a daze. I couldn't even move from my place as tears were rolling down my face continuously.

"Tumhe sharm nahi aati kabhi saad par girti padti rehti ho mehez chune ke liye ab jahanzaib ke kamre tak chee chee" maham appi added bitter words.

"Ayinda baar zaib ke aas paas nazar aayi to mujhse bura koi nahi hoga samjhi tum" maham appi spat and they both went away giving me a displeased look. I was rooted in my place. All I could think was one word.
BADKIRDAR.
Am I characterless?
No.
No.
They are saying this just because they don't know the whole truth. Ammi told me that only the members of Haveli know about our nikkah. Relax ayzi. I said to myself.

I wiped my tears and went down to help my ammi. Everyone was present in the hall doing the preparations. Ammi asked me to help shumaila appi in getting ready for the function.  I don't want anyone to know what they said to me. I don't want anyone to worry at least for now I have to keep my mouth shut for the sake of Shumaila appi. She's already very nervous I don't want any trouble or drama in the house.

I took a deep breath to calm the havoc in my mind. I went inside her room and helped her to get ready.

"Ayzi kuch hua hai?" She asked me sensing my gloomy face.

"Nahi to appi kuch nahi hua hai?" I replied tucking her braid behind.

"Kuch hua hai to tum mujhe batasakti ho mai hu hamesha" she assured me holding my hand and squeezing it.

I nodded in response. We were ready for the function and we both descended the stairs. Everyone was very happy for the couple. I forgot my phone upstairs so I went into my room to grab it.

A pair of hands snaked around my waist from behind making me gasp audibly. He rested his chin on my shoulder and inhaled my fragrance as if it calmed every atom of his body.

"Jaan-e-jahan, jaan lene ka irada hai kya? Itni khubsurat kaise lagsakti ho yaar" he said in his deep husky voice making me shiver under his touch. If another time I would have blushed but all I could think of was phuppo and Maham Appi's harsh words. tears threatened to fall from my eyes but I blinked to stop from crying. I pulled my sleeves down to cover my bruised wrist. If he gets to know about this Allah knows what he will do to them.

"Acha ji itni khubsurat lag rahi hu?" I asked smilingly.

"Qayamat dha rahi ho aur puch rahi ho itni khubsurat lag rahi hu? Hayyee ladki tum bhi kamal karti ho" he said turning me around. His smile dropped looking at my face. Is it that obvious?

"Ayzi ro rahi thi tum? Kisi ne kuch kaha batao mujhe?" He asked with concern.
Oh god is it that obvious?

"Wo-wo appi ka nikkah ho raha hai to..." I lied whatever came into my mind.

"Ayzi wo yahi to hogi baba kyu in nasheeli ankhoun ko halkan kar rahi ho...mera bhi socho yaar...tumhari in ankhoun ka diwana hu," he said wiping my unshed tears with his thumb. I quickly hugged him to hide my tears. I don't want him to know about it now. He hugged me back caressing my back.

"Pakki baat hai ke tum sirf shumaila ke nikkah par ro rahi ho...kuch aur baat ho tum mujhe batasakti ho janti ho na" he said not breaking our little moment. I just nodded in return.
