Just Jess

Debutante Ball pt. 2

"Are you trying to tell me that's you're a good dancer, you know I can see your twin miserably failing right there"

"Hey, we might look the same but she is no where near my level of dancing" Sabrina laughs and strikes a pose

Jess rolls his eyes, then focuses them in on her blue eyes. (Orbs)

"Let's see then" he grabs one of her hands in his left, and rests the right on her shoulder

"You can dance?" Sabrina laughs in disbelief

"Only one way to find out"

As if on cue Miss Patty starts the music over, and Jess glides her through the grass, still slightly wet from last nights rain. He effortlessly spins her around and dips her, and she can't help but look up in amazement. After a shared laugh, he lifts her back up and she feels his hand start to go towards her waist, she instantly freezes up.

"What's the matter" Jess asks worriedly

"Look behind you" Sabrina whispers, pointing down the street at her mother and christopher walking towards the other entrance of Miss Patty's.

"Oh" is all Jess let's out, before he makes his exit

"I'm sorry" Sabrina tries to call out but he had already started jogging away.

Sabrina waits outside for a moment before heading back in the studio. She sits back on her hay barrel watching her parents dance, she sways her head to the music and relives dancing with Jess.

"So did you know that you're considered a hot dad?" Sabrina says.

The gang, minus Todd who disappeared right after the feather dance, Sabrina thinks he got kidnapped by one of the recently divorced moms, were walking down the sidewalk after the ball. It was just as boring and embarrassing as Sabrina imagined, although she did feel pretty in her dress and loved meeting all the other debutants, even the crazy drunk ones.

"Ha!" Lorelai laughed

"Libby said that it's too bad you're my real Dad because if you were my stepdad, I could steal you away from mom." Rory added

"Ugh" Lorelai replied

"That Libby's got a good life ahead of her"christopher chuckled

"Well, I was very proud of all of you. You made it through the entire ceremony with a completely straight face. Almost all of you." Lorelai says while glaring at Sabrina

"I'm sorry but that fan dance was more then I can take"

After Dean decided to head home and christoper decided to turn in early, the three girls decided to stop at Luke's for a burger. Rory and Sabrina headed into the diner first; their mother staying behind to talk to chris.

"You go order, I'll save us a seat" Sabrina says not wanting to run into Jess looking like this.

Lorelai comes in and after discussing chris' new girlfriend and joking about doing more balls, Luke brings over her burger. After a little bantering between the two, Jess walking in dressed almost exactly like Luke. Sabrina instantly laughs almost spewing lettuce out her nose.

"What do you think you're doing" demands Luke

"Working"

"So you think this is funny"

"I'm sorry I thought this was the uniform"

"Okay, you know what, that's fine. Have your little joke, you know. It doesn't bother me at all. You just go over there and clean off that table, okay? I'm ignoring you. You do not exist." Luke waves his hand in Jess' face

"Okay"

"That's it, get upstairs and change"

"Whatever you say Uncle Luke"

"It's Luke, just Luke. Mister Luke. In fact, don't address me at all."

Sabrina laughs to herself about the entire interaction, she decides to leave early before Jess comes back down and actually notices her attire.

"Hey"

Sabrina nearly jumps out of her dress in fright, but she calms down when she notices Jess coming out of the dark

"Dude, you nearly gave me a heart attack" Sabrina says holding her hand to her chest

"Apologies, nice dress" Jess laughs

"Nice "uniform"" Sabrina replies noticing Jess still dressed in his Luke outfit "how'd you even get out"

"I have my ways"

"Wow mysterious" Sabrina said sarcastically "if you're here to make fun of me then just keep walking along, my day was tiring enough"

Jess sped up in front of her and turned around causing her to stop, as they were face to face

"Now why would I make fun of you"

Sabrina just flailed her arms down her dress "look at me" she laughed

Jess looked her up and down

"you look pretty"

"What?"

"I bet you're hiding some ridiculous socks under there though"

Sabrina let out a small laughed lifted up the bottom of her dress to reveal pink snoopy socks.
