"So, do you plan to introduce her to the group? Or, are you trying to build on the suspense?" She pestered, removing her dark shades and launching her head insistently in my direction.
Again, I wasn't too sure on the reason why her attitude seemed repulsed. Something about her uncensored choice of words threw me completely off. Eventually, I realized that my discomfort was sparked primarily by the way she spoke with an underlying emotion that ventured somewhere between the lines of sarcasm and bitchiness.
"Calm down, Margot. Everyone, this is Sasha. Sasha, this is everyone. There you go, was that a good enough introduction?" Ahmad clarified with a lace of appreciated sarcasm, attempting to break the mustering tension while also throwing me a warm smile.
"Well Sasha, it's truly a pleasure to meet you. My name is Justin and this is my wife, Candice. So, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the extent of your relationship with my boy Ken?" The Asian man was the first of the group of strangers to acknowledge me by name, his intriguing stare now awaiting my response.
Ken, huh?
I didn't think I'd ever heard that nickname used to refer to him before. But, I mean it was befitting, considering how Kendall was basically like a walking, living, breathing Ken doll.
"Will you all just shut the hell up?" Kendall eventually grumbled, completely fed up with his friends' relentless rounds of banter.
I, on the other hand, was somewhat enjoying the unusual experience.
It was quite refreshing to observe the way he interacted with people outside the confines of the pompous world of business. It turns out that's his friends were, otherwise, normal. And, no matter how cheesy it was to admit, I felt oddly closer to him from witnessing the different parts of his reclusive life that he so often kept hidden from the world.
"Whatever." Justin retorted, followed by releasing an uneasy laugh.
"Hey, be nice babe." I playfully swatted Kendall's arm, but he merely motioned to teasingly bite at my hand.
While the remainder of his friends seemed to sober up from the dark cadence of his tone, he sunk his arm lower along my body until finding my waist. When he tightened his firm hold around my waistline, I allowed my hands to trail from his beard to his hard chest.
Kendall was mine and I'd be damned if every person here didn't know it. It was terrifying to imagine how infatuated I'd become with him with each passing moment—both physically and emotionally. The longer my mind lingered on the thought, the further my hands wandered along the curvature of his dispelled muscles.
He was so naturally sexy, it wasn't fair.
"Babe? I think I like the sound of that." He darkly whispered into my ear, then proceeded to nip it with his teeth. My face reddened at the mistaken slip of referring to him by such an endearing term.
"Oh yeah? And how much?" I probed, attempting to distract him from my growing embarrassment—all while ignore the prying eyes of his friends.
"I can show you better than I can tell you, babe." He whispered once more, returning the charming sentiment and causing me to release a lousy chuckle.
"Stop, save it for later." I ushered by lightly slapping at his chest, still not fully accustomed to the forward displays of passion.
"Fine. But, remember what you said." He granted, as he delivered a warning full of many silent promises. Shamefully, I was now looking forward to what later tonight would entail.
"So, shall we play a little game?" Margot questioned, while grinning contentiously at the idea of participating in a group activity. I didn't miss the way her green eyes narrowed onto Kendall and I.
