Chapter ten: Release

I sigh and go to sleep on my couch.

I don't feel like going to my bed, it gave me a nightmare last time I slept in it.

Probably why I've been obsessing over my sister.

I swear, it was so realistic.

I was inside a dark room, no lights, no signs of life.

Then, just like a movie, the light turned on.

And there was my dear sisters.

Rize and Kyo.

Kyo and Rize were smiling at me.

They looked like the age of 10.

Then the lights turned off again.

Then on.

Then Kyo and Rize were yelling at eachother, then at me.

Off.

On.

Kyo was crying, and Rize was dead, smashed by some falling debris.

Off.

On.

Kyo was gone too, she'd left. But I saw Kaneki instead.

Right were Rize once was.

That ended my nightmare.

I found myself not able to sleep on that bed.

Nor could I sleep now, because I'm thinking about it.

I go onto my computer and type in a song that I wanted to listen to as I fall asleep, so I don't feel alone.

And I found something, that makes me feel alive yet somehow dead inside it me feel it makes me numb at once.

It makes no sense, but it still helps me see. So am I soon to be, the monster that I despise?"

I sang alone to the music, slowly drifting off to sleep.

In less than 24 hours, I will rescue my sister.

Kyo, or Midnight, which ever one you prefer now, I want to have a battle...

To see which one of us is worthy.

CCG calls Kyo Midnight because she likes to stalk and kill her prey at exactly midnight. She is a SSS-class ghoul too.

Before I could fall asleep again, a knock is heard at my door.

I answer it and there stood Kaneki.

"What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to thank you and tell you that..."

"What?"

"That I want to help you rescue your sister." He says with a determined face.

I pause for a moment. "Yeah. Okay." I nod.
