No Strings Attached

CHAPTER 48

Ana nods, seemingly satisfied at my answer before reaching her hands out for me. "I need to get dressed for the plane, help me up," she demands.

"But I just packed up all your shit," I groan, walking over to her anyway and carefully helping her stand up.

"I'm sure you'll manage to pack it all up again," she teases, reaching up to kiss my cheek as I roll my eyes at her.

"You need to get dressed too," she says in a matter-of-fact voice, looking up at me as she leans her body against mine.

"Right as always," I smile, resting my chin on the top of her head. "I'll go get changed, get my stuff, then come back for you. How does that sound?" I ask gently.

"Sounds good," Ana teases, standing up on her own as I quickly kiss her cheek before exiting the room.

The hallway of our hotel floor is empty as I go to my room, locking the door behind me as I take a moment to slow down.

When did everything get so intense?

I go to where my suitcase lies in the walk-in robe and pull out a pair of black jeans and a black t-shirt. I get changed before stuffing all my clothes in my suitcase and walking into the ensuite.

I grimace as I see my reflection, sighing as I plug the razor in and beginning to shave my beard which had started to become too unruly. I leave a bit of stubble before flicking the switch off and turning the tap on to rinse the sink.

I run my hands through my hair and pack up my toiletries before emerging back into the main bedroom. I zip up my suitcase before standing it up and rolling it alongside me. I go back out into the hallway to see Alessio with his suitcase, leaning against the railing.

He grins as he looks up at me, "I'm going to the airport now to pack our luggage in, want me to take yours?" he asks.

"Thanks, I'll go get Ana's too," I reply.

"On a nickname basis are we now?" he teases, a shit eating grin on his face as I roll my eyes and knock on Ana's door.

"Come in!" she calls out, and I smile as I walk back into her room. She does a spin for me and I laugh, watching as she brushes her hair out. "Ana I'm taking all our shit now," Alessio announces, walking into her room as she carelessly tosses her hairbrush into her suitcase.

I crouch down to zip it up before she can, ignoring Alessio's eyes boring a hole in the back of my head.

His eyes flicker from me to Ana as I stand up, giving him her suitcase as he nods slowly and walks out of the room.

"Do you think they all know?" Ana asks, looking at me curiously.

"No," I shrug.

They definitely all know.

One hour into the plane ride and Ana is asleep. Head on my shoulder. Legs in my lap.

If I had a dollar for every time I got a suspicious look from my family or Le Aquile Rosse, I wouldn't have to run a Mafia anymore.

I tighten my arm around Ana as she stirs, looking down at her as she cuddles closer to my body. I can't help the small smile which makes its way to my lips as she does so, ignoring Alessio beside me.

"Care to fill me in on what's happening right now?" he asks, clearly dumbfounded.

"No really," I say in a bored tone, looking at my now outraged brother.

"So I'm just going to go ahead and assume that I now have a new sister-in-law then," he says in an equally as bored tone.

I raise an eyebrow at him but let it go, letting him think what he wants about Ana and I.

Hell, I don't even know what I think of Ana and I. It all happened so fast I don't even know what we are. But as I said, it's something we can figure out once Leonardo is out of the picture.

I sigh and rest my chin on Ana's head, closing my eyes as the dull chatter of my family fills my ears.

I dread to think how they'll all react when we tell them. Too much excitement for right now I think.

Ana's grip on my t-shirt tightens and I smile, I honestly don't know why I held off for so long. Now I can't imagine my life without this girl.

I'm currently in Year 12, and it's kicking my ass so I've been focusing solely on study and haven't been writing here sorry. I know this is only a short chapter, but I hope you guys enjoyed it xx

I'm not going to be making any promises about updating because I genuinely need to focus on school right now. But I will say that I definitely haven't forgotten you guys!!!!
