THEO'S POV:

So, the day has finally come. I have finally got a real job that can earn us real money and help the family. Today, at 6:30AM, on my first day, I am wearing a white shirt, a blue stripy tie and some black trousers. I brush myself off as if I was dirty and I take a deep breath before I wander quietly into the school. I look behind me for a second and see Crystal. She dropped me off so I wave to her, and I smile as I also see my daughter, Sophia, wave to me too. I enter the school doors and walk to reception.

There sat a blonde haired woman. She has black round glasses and she looks pretty moody overall, not someone you'd wanna mess with. She seems to be on the phone so I grip onto my messenger bag and I smile brightly as she looks up at me. She looks at her computer for a second and types as she talks to the person on the phone. After a while, she finally puts the phone down and looks at me.

"Can I help you?" she says in a moody tone. Her eyes are droopy and she scares me quite a bit.

I nod. "Yes. I recently had an interview here.. I'm a new geography teacher at this school."

She bites her cheek for a second before she looks back at her computer, clicking onto something. "Name?" she asks. I seem to be staring into the distance for a second before I finally reply.

"O-Oh! My name is Theodore Larsson. Theo for short."

She types on her keyboard loudly. I smile a little as she turns back to me and smiles weakly. "Go ahead." she says plainly, pressing a button and opening the door beside me. I thank her and enter through the doors. The school is empty at the moment, so I decide to go and try to find Toby.

A COUPLE MINUTES LATER

I wander around curiously. I must say, it is a pretty clean and well organised school. And even though the receptionist wasn't the brightest, every other teacher who has seen me has welcomed me. The day before today, I had a teacher training day. It was difficult but I managed, and now Im here where I am today.

I clear my throat as I peak around 2 big doors, standing out. This block is right in front of the field and it seems kind of 'Design and Technology-ish' so I look for Toby. I end up spotting him at the very front, swigging some whiskey. He is wearing a green t shirt covered in a weird red substance. I shrugged it off since it looked like paint. He also had a brown apron over the shirt, his red tie and trainers standing out. I smile and I walk into the workshop quietly, wanting to surprise him.

I sneak up quietly behind him, tiptoeing. I try to hold back my laugh as I grab him on the shoulders with my hands, saying "Boo!". I laugh loudly and he stares at me with wide eyes.

"Jesus fucking christ The- Wait Theo?" says Toby as he spins around in his chair. He looks confused on why he's seeing me. I chuckle.
"Yup it's me." I reply.
"What're you doing here?" he asks.
"I'm a teacher here now. A geography teacher."

He stares at me for a couple seconds before he clears his throat. He still seems to be in a bit of shock. "You? A teacher?" he laughs. "Aren't you making enough money from those books you're selling or whatever?" he scratches his chin and wait for a reply. I notice a very obvious knife and spanner in his apron pocket.

"Yes, as weird as it seems and sounds, I'm a teacher now." I reply. I also feel weird. I always thought I'd have enough money from my books but sales seem to be going down recently. I'm glad I bought this job anyway though, I think children are nice and I'd love to teach them.

Toby scratches his chin again, scratching his beard in the process. It's always amazed me how he grew a beard from such a young age. His eye scar was standing out to me, too.

"Ah, well, I hope you have fun here, mate," says Toby, taking another little swig of his whiskey. "kids are menaces here, only I teach the year 10's and 11's so they're better."

I nod. "Yeah. I'm already ready for that." I think of how nice it will be when i finally get to see my own classroom. I can decorate it and put up all things geography so my students can look at it whenever they want. "Anyway, I'll be heading off now, gotta get to my classroom." I say, breaking the silence. I wave at Toby and he waves back as he takes the whiskey bottle out of his mouth. I hope he stops drinking before he starts teaching this morning.

IN THE CLASSROOM (LESSON TIME)

I take a deep breath as I look outside the classroom door. I see a bunch of kids hurdling up next to the door. I hope they like my classroom. I haven't yet decorated it much but it should be okay. I smile a little as I look at the children outside and I think of my own child. Sophia. I also think of Crystal and I wonder what she's doing.

I shrug it off for now and I walk over to the classroom door, opening it. The children start to flood in and they all choose their seats as they desire. They don't seem too young to be year 7's but they don't look older than year 10's either. So I guess they're either year 8 or 9.

I clear my throat, shushing everyone a little bit. The classroom is now quiet. "Hello everyone." I say, a little bit nervous. "I am Mr Larsson, and I will be teaching you geography this year."

The kids start to chat amongst themselves and I smile a little bit. "My main objective for all my classes is for everyone to enjoy what they're doing, so that means I do allow music if you'd like." I say. The children start to cheer a little bit.

I take another deep breath as I head over to the whiteboard in the corner of the room. Everyone can see it so I write 'Class Work' in the corner along with the date. "Alright guys, when I give you your new books, write your names and my name underneath." I say as I write an example on the board.

I give everyone a book and I feel relieved and happy already. People chat amongst themselves as I get something on the board for our first piece of work. When it finally loads I explain the lesson and what they're going to learn about. I decide to make it about rivers, and rocks. Some students seem pretty interested.
