Chapter 13

"May I speak with you, Luna?" he asked, I nod looking at Steve and I smile at him apologetically. Standing up I walk next to Thor towards the back of the aircraft a little away from Loki.

Before he says anything, he pulls me into a bone-crushing hug, I hug him back with a lot less strength. Pulling away he kisses my forehead. "Father said you weren't coming here"

"I wasn't supposed to be. But I used my magic and forced him to send me too" I mumbled.

He chuckled slightly "I'm happy you can still use your powers"

"I am as well" I smiled at the ground.

"It feels so good to see you smiling again. And to finally hear your voice again" he said while pulling me into another hug.

"Hey, Asgardians, sit down were about to land" Metal man announces from the front of the quinjet.

Time skip

The red head woman whose name is Natasha walked us into a lab where I got introduced to Dr Banner, I sat down at a table that had a little screen that showed Loki, now free of his hand cuffs contained in a large glass cell, Steve and Natasha sat down at other seats around the table. Thor and Dr Banner stood nearby listening in.

A dark man with an eye patch walks up to what looks like a control panel "In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass" he presses a button that seemed to open a hatch underneath Loki's cell, he peered through the side of the cage seeing no floor beneath the cage "Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?" he closes the hatch and points at Loki "Ant" he then points at the button he just used to open the hatch "Boot"

"It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me" Loki replied smirking.

"Built for something a lot stronger than you"

"Oh, I've heard" Loki looks up into the screen as if he could see us. "The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?"

"How desperate am I? you threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and you kill cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did"

"Ohh. It burns you to come so close. To have the tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share. And then to be reminded what real power is"

"Well, you let me know if real power wants a magazine or something" the man walks off and Loki looks back through the screen, smirking before it turns black.

"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Dr Banner says, I bite my bottom lip uncomfortably.

"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, Luna, what's his play?" Steve asks.

"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known" I started, standing up from the seat.

"He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the tesseract" Thor finished.

"An army? From outer space?" Steve questions.

"Yes" I respond.

"So, he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for" Dr Banner says. Erik Selvig? That man when we were on earth before?

"Selvig?" I ask confused.

"He's an astrophysicist" Dr Banner says thinking I do not know him.

"He's a friend" Thor tells him.

"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours" Natasha informs us.

"I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here" Steve says.

"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him" Dr Banner says. That's rude.

"Have care how you speck. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's our brother" Thor defends.

"He killed eighty people in two days" Natasha reminds us flatly.

"He's adopted" Thor says. I gasp hitting his arm.

"Thor!"

"I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium, what did they need Iridium for?" Dr Banner questions.

Mr Stark, now out of his suit walks into the room with agent Coulson "It's a stabilizing agent" he says to us "So I'm gonna say, take a weekend, I'll fly you there. Keep the love alive" he whispers to agent Coulson "Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at shield"

Stark walks over and pats Thor's shoulder "No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing. Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long as Loki wants" he turns to look over at the working agents "Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did" he points at one of the agents, he then covers his eye looking at the round control panel "How does Fury do this?"

"He turns" a female agent replies.

"Well, that sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube"

"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" the same female agent asks.

"Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?"

"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Steve asks.

"He had to heat the cube to a hundred and twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier" Banner replies.

"Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunnelling effect" Mr Stark responds.

"Well, if he could do that, he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet"

"Finally, someone who speaks English" Stark cheers.

"Is that what just happened?" Steve questions.

"I didn't think so" I said looking over at him.

Mr Stark and Dr Banner shake hands "It's good to meet you, Dr Banner. You're work on anti-electron collusions in unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster" I tilt my head in confusion.

"Thanks" Dr Banner looks uncomfortably around at us.

The man that talked to Loki whom I'm guessing is Fury walked in saying "Dr Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him"

"Let's start with that stick of him. it may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a Hydra weapon" Steve mentions looking very serious, what is Hydra?

"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys" Fury said, Monkeys do not fly?

"Monkeys? I do not understand" Thor said voicing my thoughts.

"I do! I understood that reference" Steve said raising his hand looking very proud of himself.

"Shall we play, doctor?" Metal man talk to Dr Banner.

"Let's play some" and they walk out of the room together.
