Becky's words were met with a puzzled look from Freen. As she glanced at Becky's beaming smile, Freen couldn't help but suppress her own grin and continued nibbling on her food.

In the meantime, Becky was completely unaware of Freen's sudden quietness. She had no idea whether she had accidentally said something wrong again. All she wanted was to convey to Freen that she trusted her more than anyone else in the world. Freen was the only one who had unwavering belief in her.

Breaking the silence, Freen asked, "Do you remember anything now? It's been nearly a month since you arrived."

"Remember what?" Becky tilted her head, puzzled. "About myself?"

Freen nodded, prompting Becky to share more. "Tell me about your family," Freen gently encouraged.

With a nostalgic look, Becky began, "I have a brother named Richie. He's like a genius, good at everything from tech stuff to medicine. He was an amazing scientist." She paused for a moment before continuing, "But I can't seem to remember much about my parents. It's like they weren't really around, so I sort of forgot them."

Curious, Freen prodded further, "What did Richie say to you before you got into that time-travel capsule?"

Becky sighed, her expression growing serious. "I can only recall him mentioning two possible outcomes, but the rest is a blur."

Freen wanted to understand more, so she continued with her questions, trusting Becky's answers. "Then do you know why you decided to use the time machine?"

Becky's eyebrows furrowed as she pondered. "Actually, that's been bugging me since I got here. Why did I even step into that capsule? I knew it was a time machine, but the reason? Not a clue." She shrugged and continued eating.

Freen's curiosity was piqued. She couldn't stop the questions from swirling in her mind. She believed in Becky's honesty, and there was no reason to doubt her.

After their meal, Becky mentioned that she and Bonbon were heading out. While Becky was away, Freen took the opportunity to search the internet for information about Richie Armstrong.

Turns out, Richie Armstrong had passed away in 1940. He was a brilliant inventor who developed various technologies to locate people, all in the hope of finding his missing sister. Despite his efforts, he hadn't succeeded in finding her. Many of his inventions turned out to be remarkably useful in today's world, but his search for his sister was seen by some as an obsession.

The information left Freen astonished. Becky was telling the truth—she really was from the past and had traveled to the present for some reason. Her brother had dedicated his life to finding her, but tragically, he hadn't succeeded.

Freen dug deeper into Richie's story, hoping to find something about Becky herself. Unfortunately, there was no trace of Becky Armstrong online. However, in Richie's writings, he had mentioned his sister entering the time machine. Few didn't believe him, thinking he'd lost his mind searching for someone who wasn't real. Looking at Richie's old portrait, Freen couldn't help but notice the resemblance to Becky.

As Freen absorbed the information, her phone buzzed, breaking her train of thought. She answered quickly, hearing Heng's voice on the other end.

"Hey, Freen. Saw Becky at the milk tea shop not long ago. You weren't with her," Heng informed her.

"What?" Freen's disbelief was palpable as she leapt to her feet. She remembered the guy from the milk tea shop who seemed interested in Becky. It was clear he had a crush on her. "Is she still there?"

"Nah, she left with some guy and a dog," Heng replied.

Freen's heart raced at the news. This couldn't be happening. That guy must have said something to Becky, and now they were together. Freen couldn't let Becky get involved with someone like that. She's just too young for all of this!

In a rush, Freen hung up and was ready to dash out when she spotted Becky outside her apartment, grinning widely with the guy beside her.

"Hey, Freen. Look, I found you a boyfriend," Becky giggled.

Freen and the guy stared at Becky, their baffled expressions matching perfectly.

What on earth was Becky talking about?
