You let out a groan as your phone buzzed again. Picking it up, you saw yet another email notification another person you didn't recognize at all with yet another "haunted" place. You forwarded the email to Alex, knowing you were going to get hell for it later. But, he was the location researcher. It wasn't your job to look into these places, and you already had a lot on your plate. So, he could deal with it.

"(y/n)! Knock knock!"

You glanced away from your setup, seeing a familiar dark-skinned girl with blue braided hair walk into your "office" - which was just the walk-in closet in your room that you converted. She had grocery bags hanging from her arms while she balanced a drink tray in her hands. You got up from your desk, immediately taking the drinks from her.

"Special delivery! I got secret snacks, more instant coffee, and lunch. Your drink should be the one with the snowflake sticker," she said, setting down the bags and checking through each of them.

"Thanks, Harmony. But... why are they using snowflake stickers? It's the middle of July," you asked.

"They ran out of summer ones, somehow, and they had a bunch of winter ones still in stock. I'm not gonna complain, though. Better than trying to write on a bunch of cups with a sharpie," she said, shrugging and handing you three of the plastic bags.

Harmony Bates, age twenty three, female, single, and the main cameraman- or rather camerawoman for the channel you helped out with. She started as a small photography account on Instagram, which impressed the channel leader so much she was offered a spot on the team. The two of you went to school together, so you had been the one to show off her Instagram. When not recording, she was running errands for everyone. You had tried to talk her out of it, but she refused.

"So, how's it going? Did I catch any spooky activity in our last location?" she asked, leaning over your chair and checking your monitor.

"Nope, nothing. The only thing I caught was you goofing off," you said, cracking a small smile as you began to go through the bags and put everything away.

"Then I've done my job." She smirked, putting her hands on her hips. "Any idea on what our next location is gonna be?"

"Nope. Alex won't get back to me on that. I guess his sister is still helping him recover from top surgery," you said.

"Aw what? I thought he was supposed to be back today!"

"Yeah, was. He still said he could do work, though, so I've been sending him every email and comment I get about a haunted location."

Alex Martin, age twenty, male, also single, and the researcher of the channel. If there was a location that the group wanted to do for a video, he'd look into it and get all the details. If it wasn't for him, half of the videos would just be incriminating evidence of you guys trespassing on private property. He'd contact all the right people and make sure you all were good to record.

"Should we even take him on the next trip? I mean, it can't be good for him to constantly be walking around after surgery," Harmony said.

"Probably not. But, until he gets back to us on a location, there isn't much we can do," you said, shrugging.

"Why don't you find one for us? I mean, you've known Alex the longest. You know his research style."

"Yeah but-"

You could hear the landline ringing from downstairs followed by a high-pitched voice screaming "I'll get it" while doors slammed.

"I mean, I have no leads! And if I can be completely honest, all the locations people are suggesting are either done to death or way too specific to be normal. Like, someone asked if just the girls of the channel could check out their grandparents' haunted cabin. Like, fuck no. That's creepy as hell," you said, trying to ignore the minor interruption.
