"Fred, stop!" Her words having no effect on the redhead who had been dragging her for nearly five minutes now, up and down corridors. "I don't care if I'm caught, just go without me. I'm done running!"

"Quit screaming, you're going to blow our cover!" Fred hissed, a grin still painting his face as he finally stopped, pulling a tapestry aside to reveal a small alcove in the stone walls. He stepped inside, yanking her in after him and letting the tapestry fall back into place.

"How do you," She whispered, trying to catch her breath quietly. "Know everything about this school."

"Brightest mind of our year." He shrugged, his lips pulling into a teasing smirk as he looked down to her in the small alcove. Darkness had enveloped the two of them since the tapestry had fallen back into place, but he could still make out the outline of her face, where her hair fell against her shoulders, her bright eyes staring back up to him.

His chest was still heaving slightly after their sprint, and he leaned back against the wall beside him, ears tuned for any sign of Filch, or, arguably worse, Mrs. Norris.

"How do we even know he'll come this way?" She breathed, "We could be in here all night!"

"No, I'm sure he knows which way we w- hey!" He hissed, reaching out to grab her hips before she leaned a bit too far out of the alcove, her foot nearly sliding out into the hallway. "Careful." He muttered, eyes flickering down to his hold on her, his finger trailing along the exposed skin from where her shirt had ridden up slightly.

Her skin felt like ice and fire all at once, and she prayed he couldn't feel the goosebumps that were rising with every passing second. She didn't dare look down to where his fingers trailed, knowing that any moment now, he would come to his senses.

"I know you're here somewhere, Weasley. You won't get away with it this time. I won't rest-" The voice trailed off as Filch moved past the hidden alcove, fading entirely as he turned the corner, continuing his search as the two of them burst into laughter.

Fred's grin stretched along his lips, watching as she laughed, finally sliding his hands further up, trailing his fingers lightly along her arm before he reached her face. He let one hand cup her cheek, watching her eyes go wide.

"Fred..." She whispered, though she had no idea where the sentence was to end up.

"Don't." He breathed, softly, before pulling her face closer and ducking down, pressing his lips to hers at last. He felt her jolt in surprise beneath his hands, before her own reached forward, attaching themselves around his neck, her lips moving against his.

He blinked in surprise, pulling off from her and backing against the stone behind him, scanning her over for only a second, her eyes wide, her mouth still hanging open slightly, before he shoved the tapestry aside and hurried out into the hallway, forcing himself not to look back.
