Reuben oinks and eats the carrot and Jesse tames him.

Little Jesse:"What's your name?"

Reuben oinks.

Little Jesse:"Reuben?"

Reuben oinks.

Little Jesse picks up Reuben and holds him close to her chest.

Little Jesse:"Oh Reuben! I'm gonna love you forever and ever and we're gonna be best friends forever and ever and ever!"

Reuben oinks and smiles and Jesse smiles.

Jesse and Reuben watch the sunset by the waterfall together.

End of flashback.

Minecraft Story Mode

I gotta admit, I'm pretty sad Reuben died. He was so cute! It would have been cool to see him in the rest of the episodes! If I were the creators, I would have had Reuben hit the water and survive, you know, like sane people. 

Here, let me write that.

When the Witherstorm is FINALLY dead.

Jesse:(Climbing out of the water; Worried)"Reuben! Where's Reuben?!"

The gang hears oinking behind them and they turned around to see Reuben has popped his head out of the water and is oinking.

Jesse:(Happy and relieved)"Reuben!"

Reuben climbs out of the water and runs to Jesse, who embraces him and hugs him.

Jesse:"Oh Reuben! I'm so glad you're okay!"

Lukas:"We're so glad YOU'RE okay, Jesse. You did it, Jesse! You defeated the Witherstorm!"

Jesse:"I DID do it, didn't I? Well, Reuben helped. A friend always helps. It's called "frelping" and he and you guys were very "frepful."

Eric Stirpe revealed that there was a plan that Reuben would survive the Witherstorm attack in the Netflix version. Subsequently, minor rewrites and tweaks (which were already necessary) would have been implemented to include him in the Netflix adaptation of the Portal Hallway arc. Unfortunately, this plan never materialized as everything at Telltale imploded right at that moment. He also shared a behind-the-scenes screenshot when the team was working on this.

That would have been so cool! I wish Telltale didn't implode so I could see Reuben in the Netflix adaptation of the Portal Hallway arc.

A Portal To Mystery

When Jesse is interrogating the suspects, Reuben would be with her, interrogating them too, eyebrows furrowed and eyes narrowed and oinks and squeals suspiciously and gets up in their faces and glares at them suspiciously. One of the suspects would say they've never been interrogated by a pig before.

Access Denied

Ivor:(About Harper)"Though I must say, that woman has been a most intriguing person so far."

Jesse:(Teasing)"Intriguing? Ivor, what do you mean by that?"

Reuben gives a playful and teasing oink and winks and does a cheeky grin.

HalfSlab Bacon/Steve:"Ivor and Harper sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

A Journey's End?

Reuben would be angry at people who try to hurt Jesse.

Back in the day, when the team believed that they were making a third season, one of the versions proposed by Eric for Season 3 involved the introduction of Reuben from an alternate timeline, one in which Jesse died defeating the Witherstorm, and Reuben had lived. To be honest, I think people would not give a flying fuck of Jesse died and prefer Jesse dead and Reuben alive because everyone gets so upset and cry when Reuben dies. After all, everyone loves Reuben The Pig, right? But me? Jesse is my first favorite and Reuben is my second favorite. I wouldn't want Jesse to die. But wouldn't that be something? Having your own player character die at the end?
