"I-."

"You don't have to speak if you don't want to," Hunter promised, a relieved sigh leaving her.

"...I wanna go to bed," I whimpered and hugged her, glancing at Isa. "...Don't hide them. I want to see the real you."

"Even the eyes?" Isa asked as the magic veil surrounding their horns and tail dissipated.

"Yes."

"...I'll see it all — even what you don't want to share."

"I know," I whispered and reached for their hand. "Do it."

Isa's eyes softened when they took my hand, the hazel switching to red a second later. I tugged them close and kissed Isa's scar, feeling a tear roll down their cheek. 'They're angry for me,' I squeezed their hand and heard Hunter whisper for them to calm down. 'I've never felt them this angry before.'

Hunter managed to calm Isa enough for us to walk to our room — well, Hunter carried me. Isa walked. Once I was placed on the bed, Isa took off their suit jacket and folded it over the back of a chair before unbuttoning their shirt. 'Right, their wings. They don't want to rip their uniform,' I rolled my eyes when they told me to look away as they removed their shirt and binder. 'And Isa always acts like it's my first time seeing them shirtless.'

Once Isa put on a new shirt — one with holes for their wings — they let their wings extend, a brief flash of pain washing over their face. 'Neglecting stretching them,' I frowned at the realization. 'I'll have to remind Isa to stretch them again.' Hunter joined me on the bed, letting me rest my head against her shoulder.

"...Did one of us-?"

"No," I cut Hunter off and gripped her uniform. "...Let's change too."

"Are we taking the rest of the day off?" Hunter teased, causing my lips to twitch slightly.

"We are," I huffed as Isa joined us in bed, their tail snaking around my thigh. "Aht aht-! I want to change before you get comfortable."

"Fine," Isa dramatically held the 'i' and moved their tail, letting Hunter and I get out of bed.

POV: Isa

'When I get my hands on the people that hurt my human,' I clenched my jaw — not caring that a fang cut my lip — and let my eyes drift to [Y/N]. 'Everyone that abused you will pay, my love.' I smiled when she looked at me, trying to ignore the flashes of her life — of the abuse she endured. Confusion washed over me when she quickly walked to the bed, her hand grabbing my jaw as her eyes dropped to my lips.

"What, no kiss?" I smirked when her eyes narrowed.

"You're bleeding," Concern and tears filled her [E/C] eyes. "...Why are you bleeding?"

"They got angry," Hunter explained as she let her dress pool at her ankles. "Seeing your soul means seeing your past — usually in flashes. My guess? Some of those memories you don't like to remember."

Panic filled those [E/C] eyes, tugging on my heartstrings. "I-I'm so-sorry, Firebug. Pl-please, don't be m-mad with m-me. I-I'll-."

"With you?" I cut her off in bewilderment. "You aren't to blame for what happened to you. The people that- The people that hurt you, are. I will make them pay. Every last one, I swear."

First-Person POV

My heart warmed at the sincerity and determination in their eyes, and I moved my hands to their cheeks before stealing a kiss. Hunter's arms wrapped around my waist as she kissed my temple, helping ground me — successfully blocking the memories. 'About time,' I internally sighed before leaning into Hunter. 'Those memories exhaust me.'
