A curse is a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something. The curse bestowed upon your mother affected your life immensely. Demigods would mistake you for a monster — although technically you were half monster, you didn't want to kill them like all the others did. When you happened to stumble upon a village that seemed to be stuck in the past, you decided to stay since the gods and their children didn't seem to be fond of the village — meaning you were safe.

For a time, that is. The leader of the village found you after two months of you being on your own. She offered you a job at a castle, the same castle that everyone knew no one came back from, but you accepted anyway. It was a huge mistake. Once you realized that the matriarch was hot and insanely tall, you nearly collapsed under her gaze. After finding out she was a mother and meeting her daughters, you were willing to die on the spot.

But once you found out the daughters were flies, you knew you couldn't tell them what you were or ever let them enter your room. You didn't want to freak them out —  knowing if they found out what you were, they would avoid you. Lady Dimitrescu knew what you were and she had agreed to not tell her daughters after seeing how happy you all were. Sadly, all good things must come to an end.

You were walking through the halls when you noticed your bedroom door was cracked open. Your heart started pounding as you picked up your pace and pushed open your door. A low hiss left you when you noticed a maid in your room, her head whipping around and the letters from your mother in her hands. You glanced at the spider that started making its way to her, internally smirking at the red hourglass on its underside. The maid shook as she stared at you, but before you could threaten her, a terrified scream cut through the silence. You knew it wasn't her or any of the other maids, so it could only mean it was one of the ladies — which made your heart nearly stop.

"I'll deal with you later," You hissed out before rushing towards the library, knowing that Daniela would be the only one that was stationary currently.

Once you entered the library, Daniela swarmed behind you and shoved you towards one of the chairs. "Kill it!"

"She won't kill me! I'm her sister, dummy!"

"Shut your mouth," You hissed under your breath at the tarantula. "I'll deal with herit, my lady."

Daniela sent you a wary glance before swarming out of the library, allowing you to let your sister crawl onto your hand. You ignored her hisses of protest as you carried her to a window, making sure none of the ladies were around before opening it and letting her crawl off of your hand. She sent a hiss your way and you simply rolled your eyes before shutting the window, heading back to the library before calling out for Daniela. Once she returned, you informed her that you got rid of the tarantula but she refused to come near you — to look at you.

"Is everything okay, my lady?" You asked softly and took a step towards her, your heart breaking slightly when she immediately took a step back.

"Why are there spiders in your room? And letters to and from Aracne?"

"...How do you know about all of that?"

"Answer my questions," Daniela growled and swung her sickle to show she was serious about this.
