"For capturing her heart. If she hadn't fallen in love with me, she wouldn't be hurting right now... So, I'm sorry for hurting her."

The two shared a look before agreeing and leaving you in the cell. You let your eyes shut and thought back to when you and Cassandra started talking.

You had managed to make your way to the armory without running into one of the ladies — not that you'd mind if you did, you hadn't done anything to upset them do there wasn't much they could do to hurt you right now. There was a low buzzing that filled the air of the armory as you set down your cleaning supplies, making you turn your head slightly. Once Cassandra stopped her form and glared at you, your heart skipped a beat.

The ladies were all attractive — you'd have to be blind to think otherwise — but something about Cassandra seemed to draw you in. She folded her arms over her chest as she eyed you, causing you to squirm and fidget with your uniform. You took a hesitant step back when she took one forward, making you look up and lock eyes with her. The maids said she always had a murderous glint in her eyes, but when you looked her in the eyes, there wasn't even a hint of that in them. Her eyes held curiosity and slight infatuation — something you never thought you'd see in one of the girls.

"What's your name?" Cassandra asked after a pregnant silence, shocking you for a moment. As far as you knew, she never bothered learning the names of maids.

"U-uhm..." You stammered out as heat rushed to your cheeks, your legs moving you backward until your back connected with the wall. "[Y-y/n], my lady."

She let out a low hum before planting one hand next to your head, allowing her to lean closer to you and cause your heart to thump wildly. "Your heart is racing — if you don't calm it down, I'll want to take a bite out of you."

"Maybe I'd be fine with that."

"What?"

"What?"

The two of you stared at each other for a while before she slowly pulled away from you, her eyes glancing off to the side as a sheepish smile ghosted over her face. You watched her closely, and when she locked eyes with you again, you noticed a hint of amusement and intrigue. Light pressure applied to your waist before you were roughly pulled towards the vampire, a soft gasp passing your lips as you tried to ignore to rush of heat sent to your core. Her lips parted slightly to reveal her fangs — effectively causing your breath to catch in your throat.

You let her tilt your head before feeling her lips on your pulse point. Her lips pressed gently to the sensitive skin, causing your heart to skip a beat. You felt her fangs graze over your flesh before quickly disappearing — managing to confuse you in an instant.

"M-my lady?" You breathed out, letting out a soft whimper when she gripped your jaw and locked eyes with you.

"You're not going to beg me to not bite you?"

"I-if you need blood, I'll go-gladly let you drink f-from me."

"...Hm." Cassandra didn't let go of your jaw — instead, she pulled you closer and let her lips ghost over yours. "You're an interesting one... What if I asked to kiss you?"

"I-I... Go ahead." You squeaked out before clearing your throat, heat coating your cheeks. "I-I mean... I wouldn't say 'no' my lady."

Cassandra let out a low hum before leaning in slightly — just enough to let you know she did kiss you. Before you could attempt to return the kiss, the pressure was gone, and so was Cassandra. You let out a shaky breath — composing yourself before grabbing your cleaning supplies.

You woke to buzz growing louder, a soft grumble passing your lips until the swarm stopped outside of your cell. Instead of taking the form of one of the girls, the flies made their way through the bars before stopping in front of you — finally taking the form of Cassandra. The moment her flies settled, you began crying and leaned into her hands after she cupped your cheeks. She quietly shushed you and wiped your tears away, waiting for you to calm down a bit before helping you down from your shackles.

Once you were free, you wrapped your arms around her neck and buried your face in her chest, the both of you crying against each other. You let her lift you after a few minutes and the both of you were calm again — just glad to be alive long enough to see her again. Cassandra carried you out of the cell and towards the door of the basement, ignoring your soft mutters telling her that moving you would upset her family.

You waited until she stopped moving to pull your face away from her neck, sending her a confused and tearful gaze — to which she sent you a small smile. Cassandra sat on her bed and held you against her before she buried her face in your neck, taking a deep breath of your scent shortly after. You began running your fingers through her hair — making sure to go slow and let your nails scrape over her scalp, knowing that it always calmed her down.

"Do they know you took me?"

"I don't care," Cassandra growled out before laying down, tightening her grip on you. "I just want to hold you tonight — before they..."

"Let's not think about it." You whispered out and pressed a tender kiss to her head.

"Fine with me. Noapte buna iubirea mea."

"Good night to you too, my love."

A few moments passed before her grip on you loosened and let you know that she had fallen asleep. You shifted slightly and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips, letting your eyes shut shortly after as sleep welcomed you in its embrace. The thought of being taken from her in the middle of the night decided to manifest into a dream, turning your peaceful sleep into a nightmare.

When you woke from the nightmare, tears pricked your eyes — especially when you realized that you weren't laying on Cassandra anymore. The more you woke up, the more you began to realize your situation. You were; bound by ropes to a chair in a dark room, had cloth gagging you, and could feel the cold metal of the sickles your ladies used pressing against your throat. Bela stepped forward enough for you to barely see her, causing your heart to nearly stop.

"This is now a test for Cassandra," She started slowly, pain etched into her voice as her gaze dropped to the blade at your neck. "It won't be deep enough to kill you — but the speed at which she gets here will prove to mother she's serious about her feelings for you."

You tried to protest — a muffled sob being the only sound that managed to come through as you shook your head, tears falling down your cheeks. This would only hurt Cassandra more, after all.

"...Do it, Dani..."

"I'm so sorry, [Y/N]," Daniela whispered next to your ear before the blade slid across your flesh, sending blood everywhere as your pained, muffled screams filled the air. "We tried begging mother to reconsider."
