💚Shane- He'll Kill Me

Y/n was pacing up and down outside her tent as Carol tried to calm her

"It'll be OK. Just be honest with him. There isn't much he can do anyway other than support you. He loves you too damn much" Carol said. Everything was just going right. They had gotten into a routine, found a group and Rick had just returned after being presumed dead. But now, this would ruin everything

Y/n was only 16 years old. She had spent her entire life following her brother around. She was knows as a trouble maker. Often arguing with her parents and Shane's house was the only escape. Before the apocalypse, y/n would sneak out to smoke weed, drink beer and have sex. She fell into the wrong crowd, but Shane was there for her. Now, she had no idea what to do

"Shane will kill me. He will actually kill me. He has done so much for me and I've thrown it away! He's protected us all and now I'm about to ruin that!" She cried out, hugging Carol

"What's going on?" Lori asked running over

"I've made a terrible mistake and I don't know how to fix it" y/n sobbed, now in loris arms

"It's alright sweetie. Just breathe. Whatever it is, we can fix it together"

"Shane's gonna kill me"

"No. No he's not"

"Yes he is. Lori, he's gonna kill me, I know it" the tears wouldn't stop and soon, everyone in camp knew something was going on. Everyone except for Shane

"You wanna tell me what's going on?" Rick asked her, pulling y/n somewhere more private

"No" she said with watery eyes

"Y/n, darling, I've known you since you were a baby. I changed your diapers and I've cleaned up your puke. Both baby puke and drunk puke. There isn't nothing you can say that will make me care for you any less" Rick tried to convince her

"I can't. It's too bad. What I did, apocalypse or not, Shane will go ape shit"

"Ape shit over what?" Shane asked making them both jump

"You been crying?" He asked walking over to his sister

"I'm sorry" she sobbed. He wrapped his arms around when as she buried her face into his shoulder, his hand softly stroking her hair

"It's alright. What you apologising for?" Rick left to give them some space

"I'm pregnant" she told him. It didn't take long before a sharp slap was left across her cheek, causing a gasp to slip from her lips. Shane just began to pace up and down in anger as y/n ran over to rick, crying hysterically

"Rick! I'm pregnant and I just told Shane and he hit me and he's really angry and and and..." y/ns breathing was unsteady as she struggled for words. Everyone heard and looked over in shock

"Shane hit you? You're pregnant? Oh Jesus y/n"

"I'm so sorry"

"It's alright. We'll figure this out" he promised. A little while later, they were all sat eating around the campfire when Shane appeared

"Y/n. Can I talk to you for a second?" She nodded and walked over to the tent she shared with him

"Shane i-"

"Please, just hear me out. I never shouldve hit you. Ever. It don't matter what you do, I will always care for you and protect you. I can't say you made good choices or that this will be easy. This will be the most difficult thing you ever do. But you aren't alone. I'm here for you and I ain't going anywhere. That baby is gonna need its uncle Shane" y/n smiled through her tears and hugged Shane

"I don't want a baby" she sobbed

"I know honey. It don't look like you have a choice"

"What if something goes wrong and...and I die or-" she panicked

"I won't let anything happen to you. You're my baby sister, I love you and you are safe"

"Shane, what do you think mama would say if she was here?" Y/n asked as they sat down on the sleeping bags

"Look, I never told ya this, but when I was in high school, I got a girl pregnant. The first person I told was mama because I was terrified. This girl didn't want the baby and I didn't want to be a father. When I told mama, she told me she was dissapointed with my choices but also said that I made her proud for telling her. That night, she made me and my girlfriend hot chocolate and brought us a film to watch. The girls parents kicked her out but mama was there for her. She lived with us until she and mama went to the doctors and she had an abortion. We drifted apart after that but mama was my rock. She saved us. Now, I know you can't have that right now. But I want you to know, mama would love that baby so much as will you" Shane explained with a tear in his eye

"I want my mama to hold me and tell me everything's gonna be ok" y/n sniffled

"I ain't mama. Not even close. But I'm here for ya. Now and forever"

"What if the baby puts everyone in danger? Crying and stuff. What then?"

"Then me and you will leave and go off on our own with the baby. I'd never let you be kicked out of the group without me y/n. We're in this together no matter how difficult" Shane promised

"I love you"

"I love you too darling" he kissed her forehead and they both lay down to take a nap and breathe after hours of pure panick and anxiety
