Things went by so quickly. Aubrey and his family buried Ms. Betty. Aubrey took it really hard at the funeral. I held him the whole time. I've been trying to help him through this but he's been trying to push me away. He feels like his life is really falling apart. He keeps talking about losing Omari in this custody case. He's getting discouraged because the case was postponed to a later date.

It's a Saturday afternoon and I decided to take Kush for a walk. It's pretty cold out today so I'm surprised that I decided to go outside. I haven't spoken to Aubrey at all today. He's been on edge because his dad is getting out today. They thought that he would be out for Ms. Betty's funeral but he wasn't.

" Kush, come on! This way, boy!" I tried to pull him toward the park but this dog was walking toward Aubrey's street. Of course, he was. " Kush!!"

This little dog started running and had me running. I swear Pooter better start taking care of this dog before I give him away. Who am I kidding? I'm not giving my baby Kush away. He slowed down right at Aubrey's car, barking. The window rolled down as soon as Kush started jumping.

" Wassup, Kush?" Aubrey sat up and smoke came out of the window. He looked up at me. " Hey, Baby." He got out, pulling me into a hug.

" Are you ok?" He stepped away and looked around before nodding. Before speaking he picked Kush up." Somewhat." I watched him put his blunt out. Placing his hands in his pockets and leaning against his car.

" Were you busy when I called earlier?" He rubbed Kush's head. " Yea, I was dealing with Delroy."

" So he's home?" I asked. Aubrey nods up to his porch just as I heard the door close. I turned around to see his dad standing on the porch, taking on the phone. He was in a heated conversation with a cigarette in his hand.

" Nigga, my son knows what he's doing!" I heard him say before I turned around to Aubrey. " Where's Omari?"

" Taking a nap," Aubrey says before placing Kush in the car and grabbing my hand to pull me on the passenger side. Opening the door, I got in. " Where are we going?"

" Away from this Nigga." He closed my door and walked over to the driver's side. Kush got in the backseat. " We're leaving Omari?"

" He's fine. Chubbs in there." He started the car just as his dad walked down the stairs. " Aubrey." He called out. Aubrey turned to him.

" What?"

" I need you to do something for me son." He looks at me and waved. " I'm sorry for interrupting your time with my son, here." Aubrey shook his head.

" This is Dom, Dad."

" Oh!! I'm so sorry, I didn't realize it was you! It's nice to see you again, Dominique." I smiled. " It's ok."
