The past few days dragged, and I felt like I was dying on the inside. It had been four days since finding out that Luna was also seeing someone else. It had been four days since I realized that the way I felt for Luna was most likely one-sided. If she liked me too, then why would she be sleeping with someone else?

She had spent the last four days blowing up my phone with texts and calls, but I didn't respond to any of them. I couldn't. One part of me felt angry, and the other part felt stupid. I couldn't believe I'd done all I could to keep her. I couldn't believe I wasted a whole year waiting for her to see reasons to be with me. I felt a tear fall from my eyes, and I wiped it away angrily.

I felt sorry for myself, too. Was this the extent to which I could go for a person I cared so much about? It was a lot, so I didn't deserve to feel like this in the end.

Or did I?

Had I been too desperate for her affection? Did she just take advantage of the love I had for her? Did she love the other person?

"Bailey?"

The knock on my door pulled me out of my deep thoughts. The door opened, and I saw Zuri standing, a slightly sad look on her face, "Are you okay, Lee?"

"Yeah," I nodded, adjusting myself in my bed before looking at her.

"You don't look it," she answered softly. "Have you been crying?"

"No, I haven't," I shook my head.

"It's just been... weirdly silent these past days," she moved to my bed. "You've barely come out. Something's wrong, Bailey, and you can tell me."

I didn't always like to talk about Luna to Zuri. First off, she found it weird that I decided to settle for just having sex as opposed to being in a relationship with a person I really liked, so she wasn't the biggest fan of me and Luna. There was also the fact that she and Luna had never really gotten along and would rather not hear her name if she had the option to. Besides, this was my mess, and I needed to deal with it alone.

"Is it Luna?" She asked quietly, but I remained quiet, and she continued. "I know I don't like to talk about her, and I know that's why you stopped talking to me about her, but you're my best friend and I want to hear everything that happens with you even if it has to do with her, you know. I can't be selective with what i want to hear."

I swallowed, "I found out she has also been seeing someone else."

"I'm so sorry, Lee," she looked stunned. "Shit, I'm sorry. How did you find out?"

"It was a text on her phone," I responded.

"And you're sure she's been seeing this person?"

"What's there to be sure about? What does it mean when a person says they can't wait to have you and your body all to their self?"

"Yeah, but maybe you two need to have a conversation about it? Just to be sure there's no misunderstanding or anything," she licked her lower lip.

"I don't think there's anything to talk about," I shrugged. "It's pretty clear what's happening, I'm not deluded."

"I still think you two should -"

"I thought you didn't like her," I shot.

"Well, I don't, but I know how much you do like her, and I know you must be really hurting, I just thought some clarity would help," she responded calmly. "It's like how you hate The Office, but you still watch it because I like it."

I sighed, "I'm sorry for snapping at you, Zuri."

"It's alright," she shrugged. "What do you need me to do for you? How can I help you feel better?"

"I don't know," I rubbed my eyes. "Nothing, actually. It's my mess."

"The moment I start being on the receiving end of your silence, then it kind of affects me," she joked. "I can stay here if you'd like.

"I'd like that," I nodded.

                                                -

I woke up to see Zuri beside me, and I remembered falling asleep slowly and asking her to stay with me.

Her wavy hair spread across the pillow, and the rays of sun coming through the window were plastered on her freckles and giving them a glow. She looked so beautiful, and I swallowed when I caught sight of her protruded nipples. It was a bit chilly, and that must have been why.

My phone vibrated on my bedside table, and I picked it up to see the notification which just popped up.

Luna. A text message from her.

Are you in today? Can I come over? I really need to talk to you. Please, Bailey.

I bit my lower lip and thought to myself for a while. There was something betraying the trust of a person did. No matter what they did, trust was broken, and there just wasn't any going back to what it used to be. With Luna, I could listen to what she had to say, but I didn't think we could ever go back to that point.

It would even be totally absurd to.

I got off the bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up before walking to the kitchen to distract myself by making breakfast for me and Zuri.
