Chapter 2: Witches before Wizards

Start from the beginning

King: "Hey, it's rude to stare!"

Y/N: "Sorry. It's just... I only ever saw stuff like this in my dreams."

And in dungeons, but we don't talk about those.

Luz: "I know, right? It's incredible! And we're the only humans here?"

King: "Haven't seen any others."

Luz: "Wow. There must be a reason for that, right? Why are we here?"

Y/N: "Oh! What if we, average teens and strangers in a magic world, have a pre-determined path of greatness!"

Luz: "*gasp* Just. Like. Azura!"

Luz and Y/N both got excited about the idea, but King only gave them a deadpan look while fishing through the potion bag and pulling out a boil cream.

King: "Yeah, did Azura's path to greatness involve her delivering boil cream?"

Luz: "Today we're delivering packages, but tomorrow we'll be earning the respect of everyone on the Boiling Isles with our magical prowess!"

King: "Ah! Good luck. The Boiling Isles is nothing but a cesspool of despair!"

Y/N: "More like a cesspool of delight! Whatever cesspool means. How can something magic be bad?"

Y/N grabbed the boil cream out of King's hand and placed it inside the bag again before hoisting it over his shoulder. Unfortunately, he's a weak little guy, so he ended up falling on his back thanks to the bag's momentum.

Luz: "You okay?"

Y/N: "I have fallen, and I can't get up. Help?"

Luz grabbed Y/N's outstretched hand and pulled him to his feet, helping him keep his balance. He wobbled a bit but eventually got his footing back and shot Luz a thumbs up, but got distracted when he saw something behind Luz and gasped. Seeing her friend gasp, Luz turned around and spotted a centaur browsing a pumpkin stand.

Y/N: "It's a centaur!"

The boy quickly ran towards the mythical being, almost tripping since his was still holding a bag that was too heavy for him, and stopped right beside the centaur. He paused to calm himself since he was about to talk to a stranger, so he took a deep breath and tapped the centaur's arm.

Y/N: "Excuse me, sir. Would you be interested in buying a potion or two?"

The centaur turned to the boy, and Y/N finally noticed he had a face on his chest. He looked at the head and saw it was blank.

Y/N: "Cool."

Centaur: "Hey, my eyes are down here."

Y/N: "I am terribly sorry, sir! I didn't mean any offense by staring."

Centaur: "*sigh* It's alright. You're not the first person to do that. Did you say you were selling potions?"

Y/N: "That is correct, sir."

The human boy opened the bag, showing off all the bottles to the half horse man. Said half horse man looked into the bag and rubbed his... pecs while humming in thought.

Centaur: "Do you have anything that removes tumors?"

Y/N: "Uhhh..."

Y/N searched around the bag, half confused and half worried about the man's request. Does he have cancer? Finally, he found a bottle labeled "Head Roller", and as he took it out to look at it better, the centaur grabbed it.
