Chapter 2: Witches before Wizards

Start from the beginning

Eda: "But most days I only sell the most finest homemade elixirs and potions."

Luz reached into the bag and pulled out a flask filled with a yellow liquid. On the flask was a label reading Snake Oil, and behind it were some tiny letters.

Luz: "'Apply before action, otherwise you'll get burns.' What does that have to do with Snake Oil?"

Eda: "No one wants an unoiled snake."

Lucia: "How much for it?"

Eda: "Why do you-"

Eda was about to ask, but one look at the boy innocently looking around the house told her everything, so she opted to ignore Lucia and just move on.

Lucia: "Seriously, how much? I might need to for, let's say, tonight?"

But she was ignored by everyone. With an eye roll, Lucia followed the group until they arrived at a balcony that gave them an amazing view of the town ahead.

Eda: "Today you shall deliver packages and sell potions to that town over there. Bonesborough."

Luz, Y/N and even Lucia looked at the view in awe. Giant bones, big structures and even a giant hand holding a tiny house. There was even some kind of building that looked like it had a mouth on the roof.

Y/N: "I wonder why it's called that."

Eda: "You'll have to be careful. I have rivals everywhere who'd love to take my business down and you along with it. You wanted a dangerous magical quest? Sister, you got one!"

Luz: "I won't let you down, Miss Eda!"

Luz saluted like a soldier, and would have dropped the bag if it wasn't Lucia who was carrying it in the first place.

After making sure they had everything, and Luz had stashed away the bathrobe and traffic cone, the three humans were ready to depart on their super magical quest. Eda accompanied them to the door, Lucia still holding the bag.

Eda: "Remember, never befriend a man in sandals and always measure twice, cut once."

Lucia: "... what?"

She didn't get an answer as Eda slammed the door shut on their faces and left them outside. Inside the house, Eda was looking proud of herself for putting kids outside with no adult supervision, Lucia doesn't count because she's the one who needs to be supervised the most, until she spotted King sleeping curled up on top of a treasure chest.

Eda: "I hate to interrupt your power nap, but you have to go with them."

King: "What?! But I just found the perfect spot! Why do I have to go?"

Eda: "You and I know they're either gonna get lost or eaten, probably both."

As if hearing them from outside, Luz smooched herself against the small window, startling Eda and King.

Luz: "No we won't!"

Eda just waved her finger to shut the drapes over the window.

Eda: "And because you work for me too. Unless you want to start paying rent?"

Angered, King threw a tantrum before hopping off the treasure chest and heading out the door. Eda followed him to make sure he didn't pull anything. Before the humans and King could depart, Eda grabbed their attention.
