Chapter 2: Witches before Wizards

Start from the beginning

Luz: "Teach us some spells! When do I get a magic staff? Was I supposed to bring my own runes? *le gasp 2, electric boogaloo* Do you have a dangerous magic quest for me?"

Eda: "Woah, woah, woah, woah! Slow down, kid."

Eda pushed Luz back so she could have some space.

Eda: "Being a witch doesn't happen overnight. And also, you're wrapped in a bathrobe and wearing the dirtiest traffic cone I've ever seen."

Luz blinked as she processed this before taking off her "hat" and blowing on it, revealing a bent traffic cone. King started laughing and Lucia chuckled in amusement. She knew it was a traffic cone from the beginning, she just didn't say anything because her younger sister looked silly wearing it on her head. Besides, doesn't a traffic cone weight more than a hat? How did Luz not figure it out on her own?

Eda: "But a magic staff, uh? You really want one?"

Luz: "More than..."

Luz paused for a second, her eyes turning to Y/N who was busy looking at the strange contents in the fridge like a child at a candy store. His usual cute self on full display as he rummaged through stuff that would likely give him food poisoning.

Luz: "... almost anything."

Eda didn't seem to notice where the human's eyes wandered to, or the suspicious pause, and just wiped some apple blood on her upper lip.

Eda: "Magic staff, come to me!"

She stretched her arm in the door's direction, but nothing happened as sounds of breaking and things falling over echoed through the house. Eda remained in a confident stance with her eyes closed, waiting to show off her staff. Luz and Lucia glanced at each other in confusion as to why it was taking so long, and Y/N finally looked away from the fridge to watch what was happening. As the sounds got near, Eda finally opened her eyes, but right as she did, her staff came flying in and smacked her on the face before falling to the floor.

Lucia: "Nice. Really showed us."

Eda momentarily glared at Lucia as she picked up her staff and spun it around, trying to salvage her image in front of her three human apprentices. Well, only two really mattered, the other was just an annoying child to her.

Eda: "It's early."

Y/N stared at the staff with stars in his eyes, eagerly awaiting his first lesson.

Eda: "Now, witches are awarded their staves from school."

Lucia: "So it's boring."

Eda: "Bingo. But with me as your teacher, you three will be taking a different approach."

Reaching inside her hair, Eda pulled a giant bag filled with potions and potion bottles. As Luz and Lucia looked inside it, Y/N started thinking if he'd be able to make his own potions through the system eventually. But wait, his system was called Wizard's Gaming System. Does that mean he's class locked? Does he need an Alchemist's Gaming System to make potions? So many questions...

But that was no time to think too deeply about it as he saw Luz, Lucia and Eda walking away with the potion bag through the house.

Eda: "I run a few businesses. On weekends I offer rare human treasures that Owlbert drags over from your side of the realm."

To show off a sample of said rare human treasures, Eda grabbed a toy sword that was resting over the fireplace and pressed a button. The sword played a small recorded message in a heroic voice before an age disclaimer, after which Eda threw the sword away.
