Annie had to keep stopping and pull Y/N just to get him to walk since he was so absorbed in looking around, something that was annoying to her. It was like an escort mission in a game. After walking for a bit longer, Annie finally stopped and turned to Y/N with a bored scowl on her face.
Annie: "Welcome to the Town, Player. The hub where players like you can chat, trade and form parties, if you're too weak on your own."
Y/N: "THIS IS MULTIPLAYER?!"
Annie: "Correct. In time, this town will be filled with players, all of which have the same system as you."
Y/N was already opening the system screen simply by thinking about it when a door in one of the many houses burst open from the inside. From there came a boy, looking around frantically before he spotted the duo. He marched over with a glare before pointing at Y/N.
??: "You! Where is this place? And what the hell is a game system?"
But Y/N wasn't listening. He just stared at the other boy with stars in his eyes. He's read plenty of stories with a protagonist who gets a system, such as Leveling Alone, but none of them ever had more than one person with the same system.
??: "Oi! Answer me, damn it!"
Annie: "Ugh, so loud. Why can't we have normal players..."
??: "I HEARD THAT!"
??(2): "Sorry, sorry. He's with me!"
Y/N looked to see another person coming from the same house as the first boy. It was a little girl with short blond hair, cat ears and a tail. Y/N gasped when he saw the anime-like character bouncing towards them and grabbing the loud boy's arm.
??(2): "Hi, PR10E! You're also showing your Player around?"
Annie: "Yes. And I see your's is a handful already."
??(2): "Hehe, yeah."
The girl chuckles awkwardly as her Player glared harder at her. She then clasped her hands and looked at Y/N with a giddy smile.
G-GLU7705Y: "This must be your Player! Hello, my name is G-GLU7705Y, or just GLU7705Y for short!"
Y/N: "I'm Y/N L/N. It's a pleasure to meet you."
G-GLU7705Y: "Ohhh, so polite! Nice to meet you, too!"
The two shook hands in a greeting. They missed how the other boy suddenly looked very confused when Y/N introduced himself, but before he could say anything, Annie separated the Guide and Player getting along and crossed her arms.
Annie: "It's actually good that you're here. We can explain the rules once for both of them."
G-GLU7705Y: "Yep yep! I'm on it!"
G-GLU7705Y put his hands together in a clap before spreading them apart, opening the second boy's status window. Y/N looked mesmerized while the other boy just stared in confusion.
??: "You showed this before, but what is it?"
G-GLU7705Y: "This is your status screen. Your very own way to see how strong you are in different areas."
G-GLU7705Y pointed to her player's screen and at each of the individual stats.
