Scar's Perspective-

One Week Later-

Grian and Scar were chatting as they walked home together.

They lived somewhat near each other, and they walked behind Bdubs, who always sped home.

"We should study sometime together!" Grian said cheerfully on their walk home.

"For what? We got nothing to study for!"

"I just mean when tests come up."

"Oh, course, G! I'll always help you!" Scar said, winking at Grian, who blushed.

They then walked down Grian's street and up to his house.

"Thanks again, Scar." Grian said, stepping into his empty house.

"Course! You wanna come over to my place since your parents are gone helping out your grandparents?"

Grian shook his head, "No thanks."

Scar shrugged, "Your choice."

He started to walk away when Grian said,
"Wait, Scar."

"Yeah?" Scar said, turning around.

Grian blushed as he started fidgeting with his hands.

"I just wanted to thank you, for everything. You're so kind and funny and sweet and always go out of your way to help me and," Grian looked up at Scar, "I really appreciate it."

Scar blushed, "Oh, of course! I'm just doing what I can to help."

"I just..." Grian took a deep breath, "I really like you, Scar."

Scar flushed red as he and Grian fell into a silence.

"I- I like you to, Gri."

Grian looked up, looking even more embarrassed than he did before.

Grian smiled sheepishly, "You- you do?"

Scar laughed lightly, "Obviously! You're so cute and smart and caring, I just- I love everything about you."

Grian giggled and they just stared at each other.

"Well, I better go." Scar then said and Grian nodded.

Scar started to walk away when Grian ran up to him.

"What is it now?" Scar asked, smiling warmly at his boyfriend.

Grian blushed and kissed Scar's cheek before dashing into his house.

Scar stared after him before smiling and putting his hands in his pocket as he walked home, whistling a tune.

Today felt like the best day ever.

Well, that's what it was.

Until he got home.

-

Scar walked up to his house and heard the muffled voices of his parents, and he knew there was another fight going on.

But this sounded worse than the others.

Scar dashed inside and saw Bdubs in the corner, looking terrified.

"NO!" Their mother shouted at their father, "I'M DONE WITH YOU AND YOUR LITTLE TRICKS! I AM DONE WITH DEALING WITH YOU!"

She then grabbed Scar's arm and pulled him away.

"HEY! LET GO OF HIM!" Bdubs shouted, running over, tears in his eyes.

"Bdubs, get away! I'm taking Scar and you can stay here!"

"But- "

"NO!" She shouted.

"Mom! Please, stop! I can't be separated from Bdubs!" Scar pleaded.

"You'll see him at school! Now pack your things and get in my car, we're leaving!"

She then turned on her heel and stormed out.

Scar's father groaned as he pulled on his hair.

Bdubs hugged him and Scar saw him smile faintly before looking up at Scar.

"You gonna go or..."

"Oh...yeah." Scar said, miserably walking to his room and packing a couple of things.

After a couple of minutes, Bdubs walked in.

"Scar, are you really gonna go?" He asked.

Scar sighed, "I- I don't know."

Bdubs cried as he ran up and hugged his brother.

"I'll be alright, we'll still talk and see each other." Scar said softly.

"But- but we promised to stick together."

"I know, but we just can't now. This day was always bound to come."

Bdubs sniffed and then nodded sadly.

"We'll be okay."

Just then, Jellie meowed and bumped up against Scar.

Scar chuckled as he bent down to kiss her fluffy head, "I guess you'll have to stay here until the new place mom's taking me is set up for cats."

Their mother then honked her horn from outside and Scar sighed.

"I- I gotta go, I'll call you later, okay?"

Bdubs nodded and his brother kissed his forehead.

"I love you, Bdubs."

"I love you to, Scar. Promise me you'll be okay."

Scar smiled softly, "I'll be okay."
