Chapter 1: A Lying Witch and a Warden

Y/N: "Why would your parents try to kill you?"

Eda: "Ah! I won't let anything happen to you three. Humans like you are much more valuable alive than dead."

Lucia: "You better not be planning to harvest our organs, woman."

Eda snorted. She was beginning to like the big human more and more. With a cry, she raised her staff, the owl sculpture at the end opening it's wings as she grabbed Luz and Lucia, who still had Y/N over her shoulder, and took off into the sky. Moments later, the guard came running around the corner only to see the escaped witch.

Guard: "You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!"

He looked down, rubbing his chin that still hurt from the metal bat hitting him.

Guard: "Okay, alright. You did. You got away with it... I need a healer, because I'm pretty sure my jaw is broken."

Meanwhile, Luz, Lucia and Y/N were somewhere high up. Luz and Y/N had their eyes closed while Lucia was using Y/N to shield her eyes from the wind by holding him in front of her. Since he was in the middle of the girls, this forced him to hug onto Luz from behind, who had tears prickling the corners of her eyes.

Eda: "You can open your eyes now, humans."

Luz peeked one eye open, saw how high they were, and immediately almost feel were it not for Lucia who was holding Y/N, who was hugging her. She wasn't even aware until she turned her head around and blushed, but didn't say anything... she liked it.

Luz: "Flying staffs, crazy monsters, you're a witch! What is this place?"

Y/N: "Magic realm! Isekais are real!"

The only male currently present cheered loudly, blowing some tension away from Luz who stifled a giggle, and Lucia who snorted at his visible enthusiasm.

Eda: "I don't know what that last part was, but you're right. This is the Boiling Isles! Every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours."

Y/N looked at the place in wonder. His dream of magic was real! Well, it already was thanks to the System, but now he was flying over a completely different world where magic was the norm. Even better, he had his two best friends with him. Hearing a screech, he looked to the side, as did the girls, and gasped at seeing a real life griffin.

Luz: "A griffin!"

The next moment made Y/N's smile fall as the griffin opened it's mouth, and thousands of spiders crawled out of it. Now he might not have arachnophobia, but today's dungeon was a pretty gross one and he'd rather not live through it again. But while he was having a flashback, Luz was the opposite as she pointed at the mythical animal in excitement.

Luz: "Spider breath! I knew it! Cough it up, sis!"

Lucia: "I never thought this bet would be settled..."

She said, handing Luz some money.

Eda: "Yep. Griffins, vampires, giraffes..."

Luz: "Giraffes?"

Lucia: "I always knew there was something wrong with those long necked freaks."

Eda: "Yeah, we banished those guys."

Eda aimed the staff down, quickly descending onto solid ground and getting off. Luz and Lucia were still taking in the shock of flying in a magic staff so they stayed in their seats while Y/N got down by himself. That was when he noticed a disembodied hand grabbing the staff and his eyes widen and pointed at it.
