Chapter 1: A Lying Witch and a Warden

Eda: "The most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles!"

Y/N: "A witch!"

As if his day couldn't get any better, he was now meeting a real witch. He had so many questions, so much stuff he wanted to say.

Eda: "I am respected! Feared!"

??: "Busted!"

Came the voice of a bulky man wearing a mask who smashed the TV with his bare hand, startling Luz who almost fell to the ground had she not hit her back against Y/N's chest, who was too lost in his own mind to react. All the other clients ran away from the sudden appearance of law enforcement. Eda jumped down from the table as the man, the guard, confronted her, pulling out a wanted poster of her and some furry little creature.

Guard: "Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors."

Lucia raised an eyebrow, but there was a tinkle of interest and amusement in her eyes.

Lucia: "Uh. Witch criminal. Nice."

Y/N: "She doesn't seem too bad."

Guard: "You are hereby ordered to come with me to the conformatorium."

The guard harshly grabs Eda's arm and pulls her, but the old lady pulls her arm away in indignation, crossing her arms.

Eda: "Would you guys quit following me! I haven't done squat."

But the guard wasn't having any of it and grabbed Luz and Lucia by the scruff of their collar and lifted them in the air. Lucia already had her bat in a swinging position, ready to know the guard's lights out.

Guard: "And you three are coming as well for fraternizing with a criminal."

Luz: "Wha- What?! That's not cool!"

Luz brings her knees up to her chest and hugs them while suspended in the guard's hold.

Lucia: "If any Noceda will go to jail first, it will be me for inappropriately touching an innocent boy!"

Luz looked at her sister like she just said the most stupid thing ever, but Lucia didn't give time to ask questions as she swung her bat straight into the guard's chin, forcing him to let go of both of them and be sent flying a few meters. Y/N yelped in surprise as Lucia picked him up as always and turned to Eda, who was looking in surprise but with a smirk.

Lucia: "Open that door again before I-"

Eda: "Woah woah, calm down. How about we get out of here first, uh?"

Eda raised her staff, spinning it around dramatically which made Luz's eyes sparkle, while Y/N saw the guard start to get up from the hit. Eda slammed the butt of the staff on the ground just as she cast a spell to levitate all her wares.

Eda: "Oops! Can't forget this."

She pulled the key out of her air and pressed the eye on it. The suitcase that once was a door flew over to the rest of the floating stuff and let itself be wrapped up in a bundle. Luz saw her book on the floor and picked it up quickly, seeing Eda use her staff to pick up the bundle and run.

Eda: "Follow me, humans!"

Eda shouted and the three humans didn't hesitate to run along with the witch. Y/N was getting a bit dizzy from the constant up and down motion of being carried by Lucia while she ran, but he pushed through.

Luz: "This is crazy! If I die here, my mom's gonna kill me!"

Lucia: "And dad will probably cover it up."
