Y/N: "They are just busy with their jobs that they don't have time for much else. I apologize for them."
Just as the older man was about to answer, a teacher walked in, pulling Lucia by the arm. She had a bruised lip and was visibly limping. Camila gasped and covered her mouth in shock while Luz's eyes widened. The mother immediately went to her oldest daughter and cupped her face, looking at the extent of her injuries.
Camila: "Ay, dios mio! What happened to you!"
Teacher: "Caught this little delinquent in another fight. One of the kids had a broken arm, while another almost had their neck broken."
Lucia: "They were asking for it."
She spat on the floor, feeling no remorse.
Camila: "Lucia!"
Principal Hal: "This is good timing. Mrs Noceda, I understand how you feel, but allow me to speak to her first."
Camila hesitated, torn between worried for her daughter and her punishment for going this far. Y/N looked concerned so he got up and grabbed Lucia's hand, guiding her to take his seat. Lucia chuckled and ruffled his hair playfully while Luz observed the interaction with worry. The teacher grumbled something about problem children and left.
Principal Hal: "I'm going to be blunt here. We think it's a good idea to send Lucia here to a juvenile boot camp."
Camila gasped, Lucia rolled her eyes, and Luz and Y/N looked at each other, not knowing why that was the case. Y/N straight up didn't know what boot camp was.
Luz: "Isn't that for the army?"
Principal Hal: "It's for troubled teens like your sister."
Camila: "But isn't that too much?"
Principal Hal: "Believe me, it's the most lenient option I can give. Some teachers begged me to just send her to court to probably get put in jail."
Luz: "What?!"
Camila: "W-why would she go to jail?"
Principal Hal: "She almost broke someone's neck. That can be classified as attempted murder, and she's a legal adult."
Those words left the room in silence. Nobody said a word as all eyes were on Lucia. Said girl just sat there with her arms crossed, but the occasional twitch of her hand signified she was actually scared in the chance she went to jail. Not for her since she didn't care about her reputation that much. It was for Luz she was worried about. Imagine the amount of problems she would face when people found out her older sister went to jail. Mockery, bullying, torment... she didn't want to imagine it, so with a sigh, she nodded.
Lucia: "I'll go to boot camp IF you look at the other guys' records. I'm not saying I'm the victim, but they're not innocent, either."
Principal Hal: "Fine, I'll take a look. But I hope you learn something while you're away. I am sick of covering for your antics."
Luz: "Don't worry, principal. I promise. No more weirdness!"
Lucia: "I'll try."
Before any of them could react, the snake still in Luz's hands jumped at the principal, causing him to fall backwards. Lucia snorted, trying not to laugh in this situation, while Luz and Y/N looked shocked.
Luz: "That... doesn't count, right?"
