IHYUK'S POV:

"Honestly, I had no idea Jiwoo was that capable."

Today was yet another cold, late winter morning. Dull. Silent. From the height of tuis floor and the view that the windows have into the outside world, people and cars were all but ants meandering the streets and sidewalks.

Winter was always such a lonesome season. Bleak. Impossibly dreary.

So when I first laid eyes on the slit of sun that came shining through the sea of clouds, I found myself lingering a moment longer on the feeling of relief.

Spring was coming soon.

"Her last attack was so quick that I couldn't even see it."

Jiyoung stared off into the distance, deep in thought.

I continued my intrigues. "You can't say she inherently overpowered Jisuk— however, considering she only recently came to know herself as an awakened one, I'd say she's truly gifted."

It was only three days after the fight. Her recovery process was slow, but sure. Resting was the best thing she could do for her health as of now.

Jiyoung seemed as if she wanted to say something.

"Chairwoman?"

"How is Jiwoo's condition?"

I glanced at my watch. "She should be awake about now."

At that, Jiyoung stood to her feet. I smiled.

I suppose it's about time we pay Jiwoo a visit.

"Jiwoo? Come on, honey. What's wrong?"

"Jiwoo, your mother and I are the people you can trust the most. Why are you hiding?"

"Jiwoo, you're scaring me. Please unlock the door. You can tell mommy anything—"

Darkness. All around me, there was only darkness with little displaced light to shine through.

When I lifted my head from my arms, I was greeted with the sight of my old room, from one of my other houses.

My mom and I moved a lot when I was younger, either because of her job or because... because of my powers.
