This kid...

A peculiar photo was taken of a girl from a distance, a girl with a familiar uniform and sandy blonde hair. Fairly tall, at least from what it looked like in this photo.

Apparently, according to Ihyuk, she's an awakened one who just so happens to be in my class.

He had stopped me this morning to have a chat and began informing me of this woman with her name and something along the lines of, "—She goes to the same school as you. Jiyoung would like you to keep a close eye on her."

Upon closer inspection and being vaguely irked by the familiarity of the woman, I came to an amusing realization.

She's the one who came out of nowhere and made a fool out of those dumbasses...

And by dumbasses, I meant my three lackeys. Can't remember their names, but they had some pretty stupid faces. One of them reminded me of a snake for some reason; maybe because of the slits for eyes? Super creepy.

"Do you know her?" Ihyuk gestured to the photo of the woman, Jiwoo Seo.

"...I guess you could say that..." I muttered in reply, bringing a hand to massage my jaw as I stared at the photo longer.

"Makes sense," Ihyuk sighed, leaning back in his chair. "You do, after all, go to the same school."

"Well, I don't really know her, only her face. And I'm pretty sure we're in the same class."

"So that means you saw her yesterday—" he caught himself, "oh, yes, of course you didn't. You skipped again."

I rolled my eyes at his withering glare. "Yeah, well, I had better things to do."

"Like what? Disappear from the Shinwha district altogether for a whole day and come back late at night, refusing to explain what on earth you—"

"Okay, okay, 'doesn't matter right now." the interruption only seemed to agitate him more. Changing the subject, I asked, "So what are her abilities?"

His eyes narrowed, "You know full well I can't give information like that out."

"Just this once?"

"No. And no more trying to fish for answers."

"Fine, whatever you say, old man."

"Again with that name!? I already told you, I'm barely into my mid-twenties—!"

"You're getting off track." I scowled at his loss of composure, more or less just to piss him off even more. Why? Because it's fun.

He gnashed his teeth, blood vessels comically bulging at his jaw and forehead. "I just know you'll be the death of me...!" he muttered.

He's always so easy to tease. Make fun of him in any sort of way and he's already grinding his teeth and balling his hands into fists. Depending on how far you go, you can break his composure just enough to where he finally loses it...

It makes sense why he doesn't like me.

Releasing a shaky, deep breath in a valiant attempt at calming his nerves, he glared one last irritated time before beginning, "Anyway. So Jiwoo Seo..."
