the two spent the rest of the day lounging around in vinnie's bedroom. a majority of this time was spent conversing in his bed.
as the sunset peeked through the curtains, a conversation arose between them.
"what are the odds you don't actually go back to vegas?"
"how about... one in none?"
vinnie sighed heavily, "you weren't supposed to say no."
ashanti chuckled but her eyes were true. "listen vinnie, vegas is my home..."
"yeah but, it's not safe for you there.. you should know that by now.." he sat up against the bed frame as his words were serious.
ashanti couldn't deny that this was true. she didn't really know what to do about omarion and the threat against her life that was looming over her head.
"i feel like i can't keep you safe if you're there..."
ashanti frowned, "you think that?"
vinnie's brows furrowed, "how could i not? i was a mess when you got hurt.. how am i supposed to let you go somewhere he is ashanti..?"
she sighed, swallowing vinnie's words. "i don't know... i've never really had to worry about my well-being like this... especially when it's because omarion isn't in my life anymore.. he always has been, and would threaten me if i tried otherwise.."
vinnie grabbed her hands, "i need to be apart of your life... you took the opportunity to end it with him when you did. if i have to worry about your life because he's threatening you, then maybe it's time we talk to somebody who can help you and get him put away ashanti..."
another sigh. ashanti knew in her heart vinnie was right. she wanted things to be serious between the two of them and what was holding her back? omarion.
"i'll be with you every step of the way." vinnie asserted, "i just want what's best for you."
ashanti's lips slowly curled into a soft smile before her voice spoke, "okay... we'll figure out someone to talk to.. i don't really know how this works.."
vinnie smiled, leaning in to kiss their forehead, "it's okay... we'll figure it out together."
