Bracing herself for impact, she was surprised to find James, the Marine marksman, intercepting the falling object just in time.
"You alright?" James asked, his concern evident as he looked at the silver-haired cat maid.
"Y-yeah, I'm alright," Felicia stuttered, her heart racing at the unexpected encounter.
"Good," James smiled, carefully returning the item to its original place on the shelf.
"I thought you were in Rondel?" Felicia inquired, tilting her head curiously.
"We returned after our rest in the city, well, half of us," James explained, prompting Felicia to tilt her head once again, her curiosity piqued.
"Half of all of you?" Felicia repeated, seeking clarification.
James turned to face her, their eyes locking in an instant connection.
"The Captain, our hot-headed Staff Sergeant, as well as the girls stayed in Rondel to conduct a 'special military operation' or whatever that means. But either way, we returned here to the Fort alongside our researchers, news crew, and the abductee," James elaborated.
"Oh, so where's the abductee?" Felicia inquired, her concern evident in her voice.
"She's being escorted to the Medical Center," James responded, providing the necessary information.
"I heard the abductee was Sir Patrick Jim's younger sister. Has he been informed about this?" Felicia asked, her worry for their mutual acquaintance apparent.
"I'm not sure, but the news has already spread worldwide, so I'm sure he knows by now," James reassured her.
