A Dream

They killed them.

They killed them all.

You couldn't stop them.

You failed them.

They were counting on you.

It's all blurry.

You held one of the skeletons in your arms. They cupped one of my cheeks and they incoherently mumbled something to me. Their voice quiet and dry. I felt guilt overwhelm my heart as they dust. I trained so hard for this moment! I...Im sorry you guys...I couldn't do it..

Tears fell as someone or something called out my name.

"Y/N!"

"Kid! Can you hear us?"

"Wake up!"

I opened my eyes, heavily breathing. "W-What?" I stuttered out, my eyes rapidly scanning the room for any danger. I was tense and feeling baffled. Was that just a dream? No..It was too real to be a dream...

Lust took my hands and caressed them with his fingers. "Y/N...Take a deeps breaths in," Lust encouraged me, giving me a worried look. I shakily complied to his command, taking deep breaths in. I gazed at Dream, his hand on my forehead with a yellow glow emitting from his palm. It was relaxing...

Dream sighed as I leaned into his touch. I looked to my side to find Classic holding a concerned Opal, while Nightmare cautiously stood a good distance from the two. Oh!Wait..Nightmare?

I looked to my other side and found Horror's red eyelight intently staring at me. His eyelight expanded when I made eye contact with him. His sharp phalanges poked my cheek. "Don't cry...It doesn't suit you..." He gently brushed my cheek. I'm crying? Actually...?

My hand moves to touch my face and yes, I was indeed tearing up. A droplet ran down to my lips and I licked it up, tasting the saltiness of my tears. Horror looked at me weirdly but didn't question my behavior.

Soon more skeletons strolled into the room to check up on me. Since everyone is in the room, we decided to have some kind of meeting.

"So, Y/N. If you don't mind us asking..What happened in your dream that made you react so badly." Dream asks, giving me his signature kind smile. "You don't have to tell us. Me and Nightmare can try to figure out your dream ourselves,"

"Nightmare" Nightmare rolled his eyelights at the positive emitting skeleton.

"Right. Sorry, brother. Nightmare. Me and Nightmare can attempt to decipher your nightmare."

"Wait?Since when were you guys brothers?" I asked in amazement and surprise. They don't even look alike though...How did I not know this...

"Yes, we're brothers..You didn't know that?" Dream was shocked that I didn't know.

"No!I never knew this! No one told me!" I was even more confused than before, wondering how in the universe were these two brothers.

"I- I thought that you knew because you know about the AUs..."

"I'm pretty sure everyone knows about alternative universes and stuff! But just because I know about them doesn't mean I know your backgrounds and personal information like that!" I explained to him, sighing at his accusation.

"You guys are getting off track. Y/N. What was your nightmare about," Nightmare got our attention. He rose a bone brow. "Tell us. What is it about?" he repeated his question. I thought about it, trying to remember what had happened. There was a lot of things happening in it and the fact it was blurry wasn't helping.
