Then

The guy finds himself on that subway again.
He's on his way to med school. His final year there. He's been looking forward to ace it, just like how he had been, consistently. Doing well.

He turns his head and recognizes a tall figure, leaning on the corner, holding a book.

It's her. The girl.

Something unfurls in him at the sight of her. Her familiar brown eyes which he thinks has a lighter shade. He believes he might be accurate about them.

He hasn't felt this good over anything, these last days.

The girl lifts her head, still buried in her book, and her gaze lands on him, and she smiles.

A genuine smile.
Not to mention how radiantly it lights up her entire face, in a way that he can't seem to look away.

He flushes inside, his hand rubbing his neck as he looks down nervous.

Could this mean something? Should he approach her?

But unfortunately, the train pulls in his junction.

He steals a last glance over, at her.

what if fate doesn't put her in his path again?

Surprisingly this time, she's staring back at him.

Heat crawls in his body and so does dissapointment as he exits out through the door.
