Author's P.0.V-
When YN returned to her office everyone was looking at her and some employees were even whispering. There was already a gossip going on about Taehyung stealing glances of YN during the meetings. Now this cafeteria incident only poured fuel into the fire.
"YN, is everything okay? Why did he drag you out like that! Is something wrong?" Aera asked being concerned.
Even Jangmi and Minho were looking at
her eagerly for a reply. YN didn't know
what to say. She just kept looking back
and forth to find an excuse.
She was in a dilemma and suddenly Mrs
Choi chimed in. "YN has made a stupid
mistake in her report. That's why boss
was angry. No need to be curious. Now
everyone, please focus on your work."
Mrs Choi saved the day. Before going to
her office, she signaled YN to follow her.
"Miss YN, I don't know what's going on
between you and the CEO, but I don't
want any gossip going around here. It's
not your fault though. What he did was
completely unprofessional. Now I'm not
in a position to lecture him. So, I'd suggest you to settle the matter, whatever it is."
"Thank you, ma'am. I'l keep that in
mind," replied YN being embarrassed and then exited her room.
While going out, she met Yiren. "Didn't
know you're so cheap, YN! Trying to
seduce the rich CEO, huh! Guess what,
he hates you! Today's incident was the
proof," Yiren remarked with a smirk.
YN just glared at her and then
walked back to her desk. Yiren heard
their conversation that day but she
misunderstood a lot of things.
Taehyung was sitting in his office, holding the bridge of his nose with his fingers. He was very much disappointed to focus on his work.
Suddenly the door opened and the
president walked in. "I heard what
happened earlier. Don't you think, you
acted impulsively! People are getting
Curious."
"Who cares about what people think!
I've my own things to worry," Taehyung
replied being irritated.
"It may not affect you but it will affect YN. She is just an employee and it's not good for her reputation," the president spoke.
"Mom, he's not my son!!"
"What do you mean?" She asked widening her eyes.
"The test results came in and i-it's
negative. Even YN said that, he's not
my son!" Taehyung exclaimed being
overwhelmed.
The president thought for a second and
then said, "Shouldn't you be happy then?
Weren't you feeling guilty thinking that
you made her pregnant! Now that you
know, he's not your son, it's not your
responsibility anymore."
"It's not like that, mom. You don't
understand!"
But she was wise enough to understand
her son's feelings. She took his hands in
hers and said, "Son, look at me." He looked at her eyes and she continued, "Do you like her? Give me an honest answer." She demanded.
At her question Taehyung looked away
and couldn't say a word.
"Well, I'll take that as a yes! Now listen to me carefully! If you cherish them, then it doesn't matter if he's your son or not. Don't suppress your feelings. Just go get the girl," said the president and left her son alone to think.
YN's P.0.V-
I was preparing dinner and Hyun was
doing kid's stuff in the living room. I
was almost finished setting up the table
when my little one came running with a
drawing in his hands.
"Mommy, how does it look? It's you
and that's me!" He said pointing at his
drawing.
"Aww! My baby is so good at it!" I
exclaimed.
"But mommy, what's a daddy! Joshua told me, he has so much fun with his dad. Can I have one too, please?" Hyun asked with a pout.
Dad is not something you can buy in
store, baby!" I replied with a heavy
heart. But he didn't budge and asked,
"Then where can I buy it? Is it vewy
expensive?"
"Why, do you really want one?" I enquired with soft eyes.
"Yes, yes!! Please mommy, buy me
a daddy!" He exclaimed and started
jumping out of excitement.
I didn't know what to say anymore.
Because of my mistake, he had to grow
up without a father. One day he'd be old
enough to know everything. How would I answer then!
I was lost in my thoughts, when the
doorbell rang. Who could've come at this
time!!
"Ma'am! What makes you come here at
this hour?" I asked opening the door.
"Won't you invite me in?" The president
asked with a smile.
"Please forgive my manners!! Come
inside. We were just getting ready for
dinner. Have a meal with us, ma'am," I
offered politely.
She nodded at my proposal and took out
a packet of chocolates from her bag. Hyun didn't waste a moment and came running to hug her legs.
"Good granny!! I love you so much!
Thank you fow the chocolates," he spoke
grinning widely. Just how much happy he was! Only if Yiren and her mom loved him like this!!
Finishing the dinner, she wanted to have
a chat with me. Hyun was watching T, so
we just sat on the dining.
"YN, I'd like you to give Taehyung
chance, to explain himself. I don't blame
you for not trusting him. If I was in your
place, I'd do the same. And, don't be
startled, he already told me everything,"
she explained, assuring me.
"Ma'am, I think it doesn't matter now. He
has already done a paternity test and it
came out negative. So, he has nothing to
do with us anymore," I tried to explain.
"Silly girl! Do you think he cares about the test! Can't you see his feelings!! He maybe cold or arrogant sometimes, but he's not a bad person. Just give it a thought."
Hearing her words, made me reevaluate
my decisions. Should I tell him the truth!
Did he really care, even ifI lied to him!
Was I doing injustice to Hyun, by keeping him away from his father!
