Never ending reign

9 5 7

The darkness creeps, a heavy shroud,
Enveloping all with its mournful cloud.
The sky is black, the stars all gone,
Leaving behind a world forlorn.

The wind is cold, a mournful sigh,
As it carries the echoes of a hopeless cry.
The trees stand tall, but dead inside,
A reflection of the emptiness they cannot hide.

The world is bleak, a barren wasteland,
Where hope and joy cannot take a stand.
Life is but a fleeting dream,
A cruel illusion, or so it seems.

The heart is heavy, the soul weighed down,
As the sadness spreads, a hopeless frown.
The tears fall freely, a torrent of pain,
As the darkness lingers, a never-ending reign.
