A poet is like a painter

Never let the words of a poet discharge the way you think and write

So what

if your words are off putting

You don't need to sound smart

For lines that people won't fucking understand

Imagery before intelligence

As I like to say

There maybe times where your mind thinks
half shit lines

That don't collab together

Like

Orange juice and toothpaste

But that's besides the point

When you think of poetry look at it
as if it were a paintbrush

The soft bristle is the calm voice

And

Your words are the color to your wooden palette

My point is

Write as if you drawing a beautiful painting on a white canvas,
but with words.
