Jaize Annarih Vera's POV

"FUCK."

I took a deep breath before letting my head rest on the table. I shut my eyes as I felt my chest becoming heavy due to my thoughts.

Why can't just things go in my way?

It would be so much easier if that's the case, but it's not. If that's the case, then I would have lay on my bed right now thinking that the persons to be blamed for are already suffering for what they did years ago. That they already paying for the pain that they caused me.

I looked at the frame in the corner of my table containing my parents' pictures. They looked so happy here. I clenched my fists.

I sighed heavily.

Soon. Soon, Annarih. You will get the justice that your parents deserves.

From this case, at least.

I have to release some tension inside my head first by clearing out the other missions that have been piled up in my office.

I stood up from my desk to have a shower. I need a cold shower para magising naman ako sandali. This will help me get things out of my head for a bit.

"AYON! BUTI NAMAN AT NAISIPAN MO 'YAN!"

"It was Last Harris," I answered. He's talking about me, taking a break from my parents' case. "I just figured out that she's somehow right."

I heard him chuckling behind. "Buti na lang talaga, nakausap mo si Lady Harris. Kung hindi ay baka nalulugmok ka pa rin."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang maramdaman ang braso niya sa balikat ko. Nagtatanong akong napatingin sa kanya but he just grinned at me at tsaka ako pakaladkad na inakay papasok ng building.

"Get your hand off me." I shrugged off his hand from my shoulder and walked past him. I was about to go straight to the training room when one of the agents stopped me.

"Miss Annarih," she leaned down. "The president is expecting you in his office."

I nodded at her and proceeded to go to the president's office. He also sent me an e-mail earlier, but I didn't mind it at all. I never thought it would be this urgent that he would ask someone to tell me to go to his office a minute after stepping inside the building.

"Good afternoon, president," I greeted him as I entered his office. He's sitting behind his desk while looking at the window.

"Pinatawag n'yo raw ako," I stated. "It seems so urgent. What's the matter?"

"We have a huge problem, Annarih."

Huge problem?

"Someone is trying to destroy us." Mas lalo akong nagtaka roon. What? "What do you mean by that?"

He looked at me. "We can't just let anyone bring us down. We have to know who they are and what are their intention kung bakit nila tayo pinupuntirya." He's serious.
