Meanwhile that night, when Catherine and Charles return to home; Charles asked Catherine if she's okay or not. Catherine simply said
- Yes
But her face were telling more than her voice. She was shocked.
Charles thought he messed it up really bad. " I suppose to handle it without the kids learn it and before nobody get harmed. And what is the result ? Two traumatized children, one of them in prison...
Yeah i handled it reallllly well"
-Don't worry, it's gonna be alright.
He couldn't promise it though, he wasn't sure if all is going to be alright anymore.
Charles said
- Go to bed, it's late
And after Catherine went to her room, Charles went to his room too.
And taked the family photo on the desk.
He looked at the eyes of his sister on the photo and started to talking quietly, trying not to wake Catherine up.
-I'm sorry, i did my best to keep the kids away from all of this.
He imagined what would his sister say if he could actually tell it to her. She probably wouldn't give him a really hard time about it, but would certainly insist him to find a safer job.
-I was sure everything was under my control but...
This time he forgot to lower his voice. And Catherine waked up.
- Who were you talking with ?
-No one, go to your bed
- Arthur speaks with himself when he's nervous, are you okay ?
-Don't you worry, i'm okay
- Well, then why do you looking like you're about to cry ?
- I'm not, why don't you go to your room ? Read a book or something if you can't sleep.
- Everything is going to be alright. First thing in the morning we'll go to that street again and i'm sure we'll find some evidence that will proof Arthur's innocence.
-Going to that street was already my plan, but you won't come
- Fine, but if you need any help, let me know...
-I don't think i will need your help, but thanks for the offer.
Charles said while smiling.
-Fine, i'm going to my room, goodnight.
